old world style, wonderful, Slovenian wine. — a year ago
Very fun bubbles for Sam's wedding. A lil funky — a year ago
This was a surprise, I normally don’t like Blankenfisk and don’t know much about Slovenian wines, but this was really really enjoyable! Fine bubbles, with a pale red, almost coppery color, with a restrained nose of hibiscus, fresh red plum, and hints of orange. Almost medium bodied, crisp and fresh, with hints of red apple, fresh watermelon with a little vegetal wine in there as well, maybe even some acidic peach and pomegranate, but nice and dry, with a gently lingering, mineral finish. — 2 months ago
Dry, pretty tasty. — a year ago
Aroma and flavor of melon and peach, orange in color with hints of gold, medium body low in acid but high alcohol, tastes like a Chardonnay with hint of sweetness. Really liked this one! — 3 months ago
Popped and poured; no formal notes. This is a fun, spontaneously fermented skin-contact blend of Pinot Gris, Welchriesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The 2021 Kobal “Bajta” dry-white wine pours a pale copper color and is redolent of white and pink tree flowers and stone fruits: apricot and peaches with some raspberries, orange citrus and light baking spices. The wine is lightly tannic with a slightly waxy texture and nice acidity. This paired really well with a fancy riff on a hard-boiled egg with falafel, tomato and feta cheese. Slovenia is becoming the best place for natural wines. This was great - easy drinking, slight funk, would buy again (had at Etta). — a month ago
