Pleasant aromas of grapefruit, kiwi, grass and apple. Flavors of grapefruit, tropical fruits and herbs. Light yellow color and great QPR! Solid wine for the affordable price. — 8 years ago
I meet with a lot of wineries that talk about being bio-dynamic. However, none of them are more passionate about this practice than Rippon. They love talking about it with great passion and truly walk the talk. In the photos are a huge pile of cow dung, stems, dropped fruits etc.. It all goes back into the vineyard to nourish the vines. The fruit to make "The Mature" comes from the Emma's and Tinker's vineyard. On the nose, light red fruits, beautiful fresh red florals and light spice. The palate is medium bodied with lean fruits of; dark cherries, plum, strawberries, raspberries, black berries, warm spices, bright red roses, gritty minerals, fine chalkiness, beautiful acidity and a well polished finish. This brawny Rutherford SB is much like that kid that joined the marines just for fun. Bronzed pear color. Fat legs coat the glass upon initial swirl. Robust, rich and perhaps almost pine-tinged flavors of lime and kiwi. Bold, with a nice, weighty mouthfeel. Has body and bite. Was very lucky to find this wine indeed. Yellow flowers and a slight honeyed essence from the Semillion with a present minerality. I think zesty is a great adjective for this Rutherford SB — 9 years ago

Gorgeous, honey pears, honeysuckle kiwi, long finish - love! — 7 years ago
This is the 2016 and it is as good as the prior growths if not better, the reason I keep it stocked. Mild floral with excellent kiwi and citrus taste that just lingers in your mouth. Never been disappointed and this a step ahead. Buy for cocktails, chicken or fish, you won't go wrong!! — 8 years ago
Jesus, how's the acid. Mouthwatering and then some. Just what the doctor order on a 37 degree scorcher. Green apple, tangerine, kiwi, slight honey comb and petrol poking through indicating some bottle age. — 8 years ago
A smooth red blend with a nice finish. — 9 years ago
Smells like dank nug. Kiwi and melon on palate. Medium plus body and acidity. A shade of wool. — 10 years ago
Not a white wine guy, but this has a nice complexity to it. Paired great with spicy sausage on a gourmet pizza. Would buy regularly if more readily available. — 10 years ago
Peach, kiwi, lemon-lime, jasmine, lilac, morning dew, great acidity, lychee, slate, granite, faint rs but balanced. Cannot beat the price. — 10 years ago

Wow. I’ve had a lot of kiwi SBs in my day but this wine is completely different. Super elegant on the nose, elderflower and hay on the nose with subtle pear skin and muted grapefruit. Med + / med acid toned down and balanced. Ripe citrus turned down to a 6 and a touch of lees to provide structure. Finish is vibrant, clean and strong on the fruit — 7 years ago
Crisp with honeysuckle lime kiwi and tropical fruits. Delicious and nice sauvignon blanc from this region — 8 years ago
Trite to say, perhaps, but having just ate kiwi, this wine is surprisingly reminiscent. Wonderful stones, apples, grass, and toffee on the nose. I taste something astringent, almost kiwi-like, and slightly like petrol. Don't know what this was like in its youth but I like it now. There is a touch more butter than I'd like it the freshness of the nose carries through with nice acid and that astringency. Drink up! — 8 years ago
Easy drinking, fruity white. — 8 years ago
Ive never had a Kerner before so I have no point of reference but this wine was striking. My initial impression was hard to describe at first, there is a sharpness to the nose that is reminiscent of smelling CO2 off of a rapid fermentation. It reminded me almost of the sensation of smelling ammonia. Once that fades I'm left with a raspberry smell. As the wine warms it goes into white peaches and kiwi fruit. The acidity is on par with perhaps lower end Riesling but the outright dryness is reminiscent of quality Sancerre. It left me really happy. I don't know why this wine seems such a bastard but I quite like it. — 9 years ago
Tart kiwi nose, riper on palate, lime, sour apple, very green fruit, biting, subtle white tea comes in later and softens to flaky pastry. — 10 years ago
Vintage 2014 must try Kiwi Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc. Hints of tropical fruits. Loved it. — 10 years ago
Ted Lemon of Littorai consults for Burn Cottage. Darkest color of our flight of Kiwi Pinots. Seems higher alcohol than 13.2% — 10 years ago
Polished, deep dark juice. Mocha and blueberries. Well structured, big but pretty. Lots of finesse. Kiwi and red currants on the finish. Just getting better and better. This stuff is dynamite. — 10 years ago
