16.5/20 (90/100) Аромат вишневого варенья, бальзамика и ванили. Остаточный сахар отлично балансируется высоким уровнем кислотности. Приятное во вкусе. Занятное вино. — 7 years ago

Cocoa powder, basil leaves, meat, game, smoke, elevated minerality, concentration, acidity, tannin and body lol. Large french oak barrels. Dark ruby. — 8 years ago
Robust viognier based blend that is heavy enough to please chardonnay drinkers but breezy enough to please the casual wine-o who wants something for a nice summer day on the porch. Loved it! — 8 years ago

What can be said about d'Yquem can only be expressed in poetry, even in a modest vintage like 1998. It is an inner sanctum, a fragrant garden, a poignant release that is both profound and glorious. Descriptors cannot do it justice, sensual and honey-drenched layers of apricots, vanilla bean, creme brûlée and almond pastry. Viscous and glycerol-laden in the mouth, offset by dazzling acidity, dried fruit—quince, more apricots. A silken, pure, honey-spun web of delight. I'm rambling, but d'Yquem does that. — 10 years ago

This is a cross between smoked blackberry pie, barbecue brisket with Sweet Baby Ray's sauce, and Lay's barbecue potato chips. The front of this wine is very opulent, very rounded and full bodied mouthfeel. Lots of smoked blackberry pie with graham cracker crust immediately in the front. The middle is where it goes a little darker. Smoky, ashy, meaty. Still finishes with some astringency. I think the consensus is that this one might be a slightly over the hill, and I would probably agree with that. However, really enjoyable wine that really would have gone well with an herbed pork or tenderloin. — 5 years ago

Smooth. Silky. Some fruit on the finish. Not much earth. Medium body. Maybe a little hot that in time could blow off, otherwise great bottle to open and be surprised with. Drank 2013. — 9 years ago
On the lighter side for a Syrah, which is great when you want those red wine flavors in the summer. Ligonberry, boysenberry, blackberry, violets, smoke, and touch of earthiness. Lots of sediment. — 9 years ago

Good as ever! — 5 years ago
Profoundly earthy, with a great helping of pyrazine. Restrained fruit- blackberry and raspberry, and a garden-full of freshly turned soil, herbs and spices. Great balance of acid and tannin. Rustic and compelling - curious to see where this goes in a few more years. — 7 years ago

Big bold delicious with blackberry and blueberry. Minty notes, medicinal, with smoke/vanilla/toast, and some tertiary notes of leather and peppercorn. Tannins smooth, easy to drink...its very tasty, but just too much alcohol in the end..no doubt a long finish, but with that finish, I could blow fire... — 5 years ago
