Stag's Leap Wine Cellars

Hands of Time Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend

Tried 2013 vintage in a restaurant priced $60 (keystone the price). Nice bottle with a good balance of several varieties Cab, merlot & PV. Hints of cherry, bit of cocoa and soft tannins. Could use a few more years to mellow out but overall very drinkable now. Fine addition to the Stags Leap collection — 9 years ago

Raventos i Blanc

De la Finca Conca del Riu Anoia Barcelona Macabeo-Xarel-lo-Parellada 2011

Pepe Raventos seems to be the keystone of making mind boggling mineral driven sparkling from Spain. Sea spray, oyster water, Ria's biscuits and an ever expanding tightly woven texture. Killer extract and concentration — 10 years ago

Pretty much textbook, classic, benchmark, keystone, (insert your own word for damn right). Dried out, ripe red fruits? Check. American oak? Hmm, coconut, dill, sweet and sour, and vanilla extract, so yes. Baked clay? Uh huh. Long, lingering and tart finish? Damn right. Sexy as all hell? Well I'll leave that up to the drinker... — 10 years ago
