Unpinot-esque. Super rich on the nose with winter warming spices, cinnamon and dates. blueberries with a richness on the palate, quite rich with a heap of vanilla and oaky tannins on the finish. A unique style in its own right, not necessarily something I would hold up as a shining example but certainly a well done bit of Marlborough. — 6 years ago

Spiced cherry and strawberry, with a lavender and herbal tea that has some dank undertones. Tart and savory, but in an extroverted style. As you'd expect from a sub-$20 NZPN, it's on the lean side, but this put cherry pie on my mind more than once. Beautiful, elegant, graceful, lengthy and expressive. Silky across the palate and carries its oak so well, drinking beautifully right now. Perfumed nose of sandalwood, sweet wood smoke, bbq bacon, leaves, cigar box, leather, violet, talcum, melange of just ripe red/black berry fruits with some hints of dried character, and asian spices. So much for the myth that Beaujolais doesn't hold up over time. This 2009 is vibrant with deep red fruit, soft tannins and we'l-balanced acidity. Forest floor and wild raspberry are in the mix. Long on the palate, a beautiful wine with another few years ahead though irresistible now — 9 years ago
