This is a very special #vawine Chardonnay from Jon Wehner a second-generation winegrower on the #EasternShore of Virginia. Very clean & crisp steel fermented wine. The 2012 is my favorite effort thus far. #vawine — 10 years ago

Sent to me by my amazing clients after the trip I planned for them to Napa Valley. They visited the Taylor Family Vineyards, sat with the owner, and tasted amazing wines. This was among their favorites. What a lovely gift. Thank you Jon & Lisa! — 12 years ago

Gamay at its Loire very best!! Juicy, full and loaded with minerals and dust. A perfect rarity on a rare (somewhat) wintry Houston evening. Importer Jon-David Headrick. — 10 years ago

The 2010 just sings at this stage. Vibrant and juicy, yet complex and still structured, this shows WA at its best. Wild cherry, red and black raspberry, a bit of exotic spice-- a lot to enjoy. Bravo, Jon! — 10 years ago

The 2013 La Côte is a brilliant young bottle of Sancerre. Monsieur Boulay only began producing a single vineyard bottling from La Grande Côte in the 2010 vintage, as these are some of his younger vines, and until the celebrated their twentieth birthday in 2010, he felt that they were simply still too young to be bottled on their own. The 2013 La Côte is brilliant, wafting from the glass in a stunning mélange of grapefruit, lemon, kaleidoscopic minerality, petrol, complex botanicals, a touch of smokiness and a topnote of citrus peel. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and again simply shows off stunning mid-palate depth for the vintage, with brisk acids, laser-like focus and great grip on the pure and dancingly long finish. Great, great wine. 2016-2035+. - Jon Gilman — 10 years ago
