Lemon oil, citrus rind, white flowers, ocean mist, golden apple. Clear minerality, slightly briny finish. Excellent purity and focus for a village level cuvée. Tremendous value. — 7 years ago
Blackberry, wood, spice. Cherry. Forest floor on palate. Medium bodied and fuller flavor with a defined and slightly tart finish. — 8 years ago
Evokes an 80's Mike Tyson, powerful, primary, possibly destined for greatness but creating a fear that unnerves. Appropriately, it socks the nose, cloves, kirsch, leather. Assaults the palate, huge extraction that manages to float, coffee, dark chocolate. Compote left out for a day. Would love to taste this next to any SQN Grenache of similar age...Group was confounded but, like 80s Iron Mike, agreed that it's destined for fame or despair, but will always be interesting. — 9 years ago
Chablis and stir-fry noodles. Acidity dancing with umami. Mushrooms and minerality. This made for a nice Monday. #thanksunclebobby — 10 years ago
Black cherry and black fruit. Balanced yet forward with its black fruit notes. Long finish. A great food wine. — 10 years ago
Outstanding just what I look for in a wine. — 12 years ago
A belter of a St Joseph. Silky Syrah. — 6 years ago
I really love this wine. It’s right up my alley and very drinkable with a dry smooth finish. — 8 years ago
Crisp and clean citrus. Slate notes on a medium finish. Serve slightly warmer than usual to get the full impact of the mineral tones. — 8 years ago
Nice but needs some time to open up - either a couple years or an hour in a decanter. Deep dark red fruit with a hint of spicy poking through the considerable structure. — 9 years ago
Bubble gum, dry red roses and a little spice on the nose. Dark raspberries, dark cherries, raspberries, some strawberries, bubble gum, bandaid, violets & red roses, granite, soft spice and rich sweet dark soil. There's nice evolution in the bottle as its so soft, smooth and elegant. Jean Foillard, Marcel La Pierre and Yvon Metras are my favorite producers for Gamay. — 9 years ago

Still a bit young, but still excellent. — 10 years ago
Like Rick Rubin: Rich, round, and a little funky. — 10 years ago
yummy! smooth taste. Tastes better than a California Chard., but similar. — 12 years ago
One of the best wines I’ve had in a while. Cidery and almost toeing the line of bruised apple. Later morphed and really became full of stone fruit. Apricots and canned peaches. This wine is alive. Just consume it over a few hours and watch it change in the glass. — 6 years ago
Got this sale, ~$9/bottle. I have jade this with lamb chop as well as some pasta. A very nice drinking wine — 9 years ago
Decanted >6h ago and now back to bottle. Marvelous intensive nose. Dark and red fruit, chocolate, spices and a floral touch of lavender! So great! On the palate its starts to be smoother and smoother. Worth waiting theese years! — 9 years ago
This has been a serious "go to" wine for me. This 100% Merlot pairs well with just about any meal. The silky red fruits, along with light pepper and cedar spice gives this great character. Although the wine is still young and tannic it boasts a well packed body and solid acidity. This has great aging potential and will be abundant in my cellar for sure. Give this a try next time you try a new wine. — 10 years ago
Good acid to challenge my elk tartar. Could use a little more body, but very nice for my pallet. — 11 years ago
