Smells like a spiced pastry

Lively! Red stars dance across the tongue for only a meaty mingling moment, before the tannins start smacking every part of the mouth, up, down, left, right, Jab, Jab, Ka-pow! Those knock out tannins longer on and on.. and on..
Wish I had bought 2 bottles, this needs at least 5 years to relax those teen tannins.
I mean, don’t close your mouth for too long on these tannins, as they act like a vacuum and super glue. You’ll never get your jaws apart.. — 3 years ago

Nose has warmed strawberry, tangerine, apricots and wet roses. Quite expressive tonight, marked improvement from our prior several months earlier.

Palate has under-ripe strawberry, cool Clementine slice, (light) fresh cherries and wet slate. Nice acidity and refreshing finish. Decanted 90m.

Truly, Summer in the glass on a beautiful evening.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the the Boston Pops Orchestra. Our Conductor Keith Lockhart is leading an all John WILLIAMS program, with Mr. Williams (hopefully) sharing some of his wonderful stories to accompany the scores.

The program includes selections from..Superman, Heidi, Jaws, The Towering Inferno, Memoirs of a Geisha Oliver, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Olympic Fanfare & Theme, JFK, Schindler's List, The Witches of Eastwick, Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Empire Strikes Back, The Force Awakens and...Star Wars. So to say we're going to be well versed into the JW catalog will be the understatement of the evening for sure!!! — 3 years ago

Reminiscent of our Portugal adventures. Travessia Tinto is from one of Portugal's oldest wine regions. Close to Lisbon and shaped by the Tagus River, most vines in the region are still hand-harvested by local women from surrounding villages.

Made from a blend of two outstanding Portuguese grapes, Touriga Nacional and Aragonez Tempranillo, Travessia is the perfect wine for those who love dry reds from warm areas (think Napa Cabs). Touriga Nacional is a full-bodied red wine. This lesser known and often overlooked grape variety is most commonly used as a blending grape in Port wine and has only recently seen use in making a red wine blends. For those who love bold red wines, Touriga Nacional offers excellent depth of flavor at a ridiculously good value.

Aragonez Tempranillo grapes have been grown for centuries in the Alentejo region. The grape has delicate aromas of pepper and berries. Once blended with the Touriga Nacional, the final product has a sumptuous garnet color with aromas & flavors of ripe red fruits. This wine is full-bodied with a long finish. — 4 years ago

2009 Kistler Bodega Headlands Cuvée Elizabeth Pinot Noir. Jaws at HB w J&L B and B&K K. No decanting. Super interesting- tea on the nose- earl grey/black tea. Really fun and different to drink. Great without food. — 6 years ago

Nose has pear slice, orange zest, various under-ripe stone fruits, pineapple core and yellow flowers; not overly expressive at this time.

Palate has tart pineapple, orange peel, slightly chalky, yellow apple and mild barrel flavors (more new than neutral?). Decent finish, but seems a little closed here as well.

Winery Notes:
"Le Clos du Château" is essentially a vineyard of approximately five hectares that sits in front of the Château de Puligny and is entirely enclosed by walls. This facilitates our bio-dynamic farming methods.

Classified as Bourgogne AOC, this vineyard is remarkably well situated in the village on the border of the Puligny-Montrachet vineyards. The deep soil, consisting of silt and clay gives the wine a lovely generosity.

Potent, penetration, juice. Narrow upfront but spreading its wings into layers of dark cherry, plum and baked earthy notes with well integrated tannins spreading into your jaws. Just could use a bit more body. — 5 years ago
