Initially nice with red fruits, opening up with more forest floor after about 15 mins. 30 mins later, the heat of the vintage comes out. So, really enjoyable, but only for a pretty narrow window of time. — 9 months ago

Whoa nelly. So glad to have found this in the back of the fridge. Oxidation folded in; an old cheese of a wine. And bright. Friend of Indian food! — 8 years ago
2014. Not the most expressive of Puffeney I've enjoyed. — 8 years ago

Nice. Lots of micro, fine, precision bubbles. Leans just into a soft oxidative style.
Slightly bruised, apple & pear, touch of apple cider, lemon chiffon/meringue, understated pineapple juice, tropical melons, lime zest, white stone fruit, fluffy whipped cream, bread dough, white spice, some oyster, sea fossils, crumbled limestone, sharpe toned, chalk powder, white spice, dry top soil layered over the top, excellent acidity, nice, round, evenly tensioned, well balanced, elegant finish that lasts two-minutes and lands evenly on fruit & earth. — 5 months ago

A stunning nose and beautiful start on first pour. Became dumb with time, even on day 2. Great potential. — 8 years ago

Un Bourgogne dune finesse incroyable. 1990. — 6 years ago
Interesting but a little too funky for me. Not that I didn’t finish my glass (or two)... — 6 years ago

Another interesting wine from Rosenthal. 2010 vintage...Slightly oxidized, with resin and medicinal / herbal notes, but crisp and delicious — 11 years ago

Sometimes I just open a quality bottle for no real occasion, and today is one of those days. The nose and opening palette is pretty standard for white burg - lemon, green apple, saline minerals. But what sets this apart is the incredible finish - ethereal complexity of dried apple, apricot, almond, subtle oak, bitters, lemon zest and delicate citrus. Tame acidity that opens up over time . Feels very light (despite 13.5% abv), refined and elegant. Deserves to be served on its own, maybe with some herbed and salted nuts. But I’m having it with Goodles parm mac n cheese and Zapp’s Voodoo chips. It’s divine :) — 5 months ago
