Interesting story Innis and Gunn gave Canadian fans a chance to collaborate a limited edition beer with them.

This one, "Dons Choice" was the 2018 winner. He was flown to Scotland to work with brewer Dougal Gunn Sharp on this IPA.

A luxurious Black IPA brewed with chocolate and crystal malt.

Flavours of coconut, tropical hops and rhubarb make a memorable ale.

A limited release from Innis & Gunn.

A Scottish Stout that is aged in Irish whisky barrels.

Colour is deepest brown.

A faint aroma of sweet chocolate, dark bread and coffee. There is not an immediate whisky aroma.

A balanced, sweet taste of roasted malts, mild chocolate, wood spice and vanilla. Medium- full body with medium carbonation.

A bitter, dry finish of whisky and chocolate. As the Stout warmed slightly the whisky flavour became more noticeable.

Maybe not the best pairing but in the words of Tim Gunn we were able to "make it work." Fresh red fruit, violets, perfume and subtle white pepper that are met with plush red fruit and accessible tannins on the palate. This is a baby and should go another five to ten years. — 10 years ago
