A plum, vanilla and leather. High acidity, but, soft tannins. Very good tempranillo, from reliable producer. — 2 months ago
Deep ripe berries with some musk / dankness. Delicious. — 3 months ago
All the right things. Cherry. Cassis. Blackberry. Balanced warm vanilla cherry crumble which good riojas are known for. A hint of undergrowth. 2013 drinking superbly in 2025. — 5 months ago

Sight: Completely opaque, blood red, slight tawny. On nose: fruit forward, tobacco. On mouth: very smooth, full bodied, was difficult to taste fruits but strong oak and earthy presence. Might not have been at correct temperature. — 8 months ago
Really good Reserva — 10 months ago
Rhonda likes. Buy a bottle, but probably not a case. — 7 years ago
Amazing with the ribeye with sautéed mushrooms and onions. Dark red fruits and oaky with balancing tannins. $12 — 10 years ago
Deep Ruby, aromas of sweet red and black fruits with pepper spice and oak. 4 grape blend from some of CVNE's best vineyards in the Rioja Alta (85% Tempranillo, rest Garnacha, Mazuelo & Graciano), aged in both French and American oak for 24 months. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants with licorice, vanilla, tobacco & toasty oak tones. Soft full ripe tannins, wonderful balance, lively acidity on a long finish ending with an earthy mineral character. Very nice! — 2 months ago
It’s hard to find fully shed classic Viura (white Rioja) anymore but old-school Lopez de Heredia clings to tradition. This wine, nearly 10 years old on release, is fascinating - aged to the point of considerable oxidation yet it retains its fruit ands acidity. Bruised apple, ripe pear, golden raisin, orange peel, flint, wet stones, and hay happily coexist with hazelnut, dried orange peel, coconut, baking spices ands more. The medium acidity is a firm foundation to a richly textured wine, Long finish too! — 3 months ago
2015 vintage. Outstanding! — 4 months ago
Called Brunello. Dr Pepper, fried herbs, figs. — 5 months ago
Classic Spanish flag color of yellow with red writing. Good brick red color. Just a hint of a purple core. Aroma is stones and red/black cherry cobblers-pies. Slightest of linseed oils. Flavors are bright, fresh Temp. Crunchy and dry. Just a hint of fennel or oregano. Has a classic feel and flavor. Would be great for watching El Clasico. — 7 months ago

Absolutely awesome. Very happy I let it age and it was in good condition. Complexity added from aging. — 7 months ago
3.2. A nice Rioja, but a little dull. Perhaps 2018 was not such a good year. On sale for ‘$18.99. — 9 months ago
Beautiful salmon color in the glass, spring flowers on the nose, paired perfectly with charcuterie & pintxos at Coqueta, with just enough acidic muscle to stand up to the food. — 7 years ago
Very nice wine. Great value. — 10 years ago
