Shout out to Mexico for making some of the most tasty stuff in the world. This gem comes from 60+ year old vines of mysterious heritage. Vibrant and wild and wonderfully layered. #mexicanwine #naturalwine #bichi — 8 years ago
Bit of reduction, mostly in the mouth, obvious is a real natural one. Impressing texture and very rich and lively juice! Love it! — 8 years ago
I wish this style was more common. Combines everything there is to love about fino sherry (salty, nutty, oxidative) in a lower alcohol package at 11.5%. — 9 years ago
Love the tannin:fruit:mushroom:barn blend - stinky in a really good way! — 9 years ago
Wow. Also, give Bocce in Mission a try. — 9 years ago
Eating dinner at sepia in chicago. The wonderful Arthur Hon asked what I like to drink. I gave some thoughts and be surprised us with this spot-on perfect selection. Tart cherry with red plum, balanced tannins and a nice long finish — 10 years ago
Smell and taste the terroir 1994 vintage numero 26 Amber in color unbelievable for 21 years old semillion oxidized an experience — 10 years ago
Great wine but expensive. Only available in restaurants. — 12 years ago
This wine disappeared rather quickly tonight. 93 without batting an eye, maybe 94. This wine pours a translucent red / violet. Nose of mint and herbal cherry. Entry is MUCH more rounded than expected. Sweet cherry cola and acidity building in the mid palate. Finishes with some bing cherry sweetness, some herb, hint of tart, hint of oak tannin but not much. Good weight without being overpowering, and went with rigatoni pasta quite well. I think this one has another 5 years before it starts to head down the hill. Nice bottle. — 7 years ago
Burgundian elegance and complexity in Grenache form. Highly drinkable now with extremely fine tannins and balanced acidity. Such a happy wine. — 8 years ago
Ensconced in velvet. Violets were the predominant flavor. The wine had a great nose and initial flavor. There was something out of place in the finish. Tasted up opening and a hour later. Really improved with air but never overcame the minor flaw. — 8 years ago
Woodsy. Herbaceous. Makes me think of hunkering down on a late fall evening. Absolutely in love with this stuff. — 9 years ago
A steal at $25. Still has many years left. Just a gorgeous expression of Grenache. More French in style. Great right out of the bottle but really started to shine after a couple of hours. Wish I had a case! — 9 years ago
Dense, rich and extravagantly dark. Brooding cherries, rich leather, and woody spices lay on strong, but velvety tannins. Amazing now, but will be perfect in another 5 years. I'll need a lot of self control to wait that long. — 10 years ago
Intriguing experimental white wine. Spain in origin with Portuguese and Spanish winemaking partnership. Mineral, almond, white blossoms and apple skin notes. Fresh on the palate ans sherry like in flavor without the bitterness from the flor of a Fino sherry. Tasted great the second evening matching the profile with a little more depth and freshness. #niepoort — 12 years ago
Nose a bit funky like black olive, the syrah component to this wine really amped its complexity. A bit more brooding than full tempranillo crianza offerings, this has integrated notes of cedar and ripe red fruits, and that touch of earthy, savory, lightly pungent syrah in support.
Good complement to garlic toast, roasted peppers and grilled salchiccons. — 7 years ago
Really nice. Smooth with good balance. Great nose with mild finish. Enjoyed at Gordon Ramsey’s Maze restaurant in London. — 7 years ago
Man, I really liked this. Vino Nobile is becoming my jam. This has a nose that screamed "forest," almost like crushed berries in underbrush. Herbs came to the forefront with air - basil and rosemary of all things. Silky texture, nice acid, flavors of red cherries, cedar, mushrooms, and a bit of potpourri in the background. This is a winner. — 8 years ago
Wet clay, currants, grapefruit peel acidity in the finish. A bit young on the nose, chalky after. Not bad for a $9 bottle — 8 years ago
Surprisingly good buy for under $10. — 8 years ago
Clean and crisp everything you would expect in a classic Verdejo — 9 years ago
Delicious! Brought two bottles back from Spain in May 2014. New french oak, smooth tannins and bright fruit — 9 years ago
Typical, in the best way. And a good price too. — 10 years ago
Really pretty good for the price. Decent fruit, enough backbone, does not have a "cheap" taste. Good in the price range, and the best alternative to lousy chianti if you want Italian. — 10 years ago

This wine was a gift from a friend and it is a nice surprise to me from Argentina. Known by the Malbec this Argentinian Cab blend (60% cab, 25% Malbec and 15% cab franc) has great notes of robusta coffee, tobacco and flower (hydrangea). In you chocolate and dark fruits. It’s higher alcohol level 14,5% ensures its long lasting flavour and a surprisingly round finish. — 6 years ago
