Sweat nose, making me imagine it has already been ready. But initially still feeling lots of tanning. More than one hour, very smooth and I am sure that it is quite higher level than 3rd one. Of course, 2010. 8 year's vintage. Excellent! @1750, Wineplus - , 180430-180615 — 8 years ago
Delicious now, but can’t imagine how much better it will be even later. — 8 years ago
The color and nose tells you nothing about the age of this wine. Incredibly fresh and youthful on both scores. My nasal passage was flooded with violets and cassis. The flood gates collapsed and my mouth was coated with black currants, licorice and minerals. Paved over my palate like a run away steamroller. Merely a teenager at this stage of evolution. I can only imagine what Father Time will create. If this is your birth year it will be a challenge to out live this wine. — 9 years ago

2001, getting tertiary but oh so screaming tannic, very good, indestructible I'd imagine — 10 years ago

Le Haut Lieu 1924 Moelleux: beautiful Ripe fruit, guava, even Passionfruit, and mango. Delightfully fragrant, with yellow and white flowers, honeysuckle, acacia and early grey tea. Superb combination of freshness, length, poise, fruit (nearly every fruit you can imagine) yellow pear, Apple, lemon, peach, and a lobby of tropicals. Long long long! Lovely vein of stony notes too. In the words of Captain Flashheart "woof!" — 10 years ago
I rated this 10, because I honestly can't imagine how it gets any better than this. This wine is awesome, totally kickass. It has everything you'd expect in a very old Barolo, yet has life and fruit and vibrancy. Amazingly, it has years to go and is still getting better. A huge aha experience. — 11 years ago
Contrary to other wines, D'yquem is in a class of it's own in terms of Sauternes. There is rarely, if ever, a bad year, although some years, like the 2001, stand out more than others. The disparity in quality from a GREAT d'yquem to a mediocre one & so on isn't as drastic as one might imagine. While the older vintages seem to age VERY well, it isn't as discernible from a recent vintage as other wines. Sauternes, in general are consistent, & none more than d'yquem. — 11 years ago
Wow. A great wine from Cris Cherry at Villa Creek, this 2008 syrah/mourvedre/grenache blend is drinking absolutely perfectly right now. Really sweet nose of candied blackberries coupled with some earthy undertones. The tannins ate totally resolved and leave a sweet (but not cloying) palate that has an impressive amount of fruit for a 10-year-old wine. Not sure how much longer this will last given the tannin profile...but I also can’t imagine it drinking any better than it is right now. — 7 years ago

Needless to say, we slayed some dragons tonight. Let the birthday week continue!
This was the one wine that was poured blind from the evening. I guessed Napa (check), I guessed early 2000s (check), but figured it a petite sirah, mainly due to the amount of lively fruit in this! Since my experience with Caymus is limited to the 40th anniversary, you can imagine how my eyes were opened. At 16yrs old, this was blueberry pie, cassis, chocolate liquor and great oak integration. Tannins were PERFECT at this point. Open if you have it! — 9 years ago

Damn near perfection from the 2001 vintage tonight. Hard to imagine how it could get better. — 9 years ago
Unbelievable! Aromas of olive wood smoke struck me first, the kind that waifs through the damp early morning spring air in the rolling hills of this part of Tuscany. You know the wine is good when it conjures up memories! So smooth and ready to drink now, but the acid is still there and begs for food, I imagine Chianina beef with sautéed Porcini mushrooms... — 10 years ago
Whoa. Double decanted. Remnants of a four hour hold in decanter. Unbelievable. Can only imagine this wine with normal maturity. Bravo, Heidi — 10 years ago
Victoire from Angelus and Clyde from K&L promoting Bordeaux! This even blend of Merlot and Cab Franc sees nothing but new oak and smells and tastes expensive. As dark as black leather, this powerful wine would be hard to pick out as a 2007. The blue fruit of the franc keeps it fresh and I could imagine it going very well with Clyde's cassoulet! — 10 years ago
2009 - Wow.... Just when Cali wines were starting to bore me, this came along with a crazy long finish. Can't imagine a better chard than this. Full bodied and well integrated oak with a little vanilla. Great honeysuckle and fruit. The acidity is at a perfect place; creates structure, but isn't searing. Wonderful. Ready to drink now, but no rush. — 11 years ago
First time trying the 2008 - Spectacular balance - power and finesse. Lemon brioche with the chalk even coming though on the nose. The palette is just grand - long and winding. Fresh acid but the mid and finish are soft and long. Hard to have sufficient words. Can’t imagine this in 10 years. — 7 years ago
I've been looking forward to trying this producer, and I was not let down! I can only imagine the price will lee going up... gamey, herbal, spicy, refined, elegant. So good! And 2012 is decilous now, though I'm sure will only get better! — 9 years ago
What a beautiful Friday to have a beautiful Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley, the 2012 Cristom Mt. Jefferson Cuvee.
I picked this beauty up this afternoon to have this evening to celebrate such a beautiful day.
On the nose one can imagine fresh cranberries, raspberry, cherry, clove, mushroom and dried roses.
The palate is consistent about the cranberry on the nose, tart cherry, red current, hibiscus notes and hints of forest floor.
There is medium acidity, nice gripping medium tannins with a good long finish. A very enjoyable Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. — 9 years ago
Just absolute dipspit. Imagine two grown men weeping over the untimely death of their favorite poinsettia. Bottle that. Age it. Then serve lukewarm. Even that would be a soft 7 compared to this amarone. Skeptical producer. — 9 years ago

Disgorgement date April 2016. Like drinking stars... bright, light, ethereal... imagine grand cru burgundy with the tiniest pinprick bubbles gushing flavors of ripe pear and green apple... a true bargain if you can find it...absolute elegance and weightless brilliance. — 7 years ago
