These classic Barbera wines are getting harder and harder to find as the "modern style" dominates this traditionally pretty and beautiful wines. Bright, and juicy with acid carrying the black and red berries for an eternity. May be light and simple for some but I love these kinds of wines. Far more interesting than generic entry level Pinot noir. — 8 years ago
— 8 years ago

I've been hesitant to open this because the Tre Stelle was so challenging and this is supposedly the more structured of the two, but I shouldn't have been, as this is a wonderful and phenomenally easy-to-drink wine, about as friendly as young nebbiolo ever gets. If it is indeed more tannic than the Tre Stelle, that is only the case on paper as the structure is smoothed over by rich, very polished fruit that still has the gloss of youthfulness but whose flavors are well past the primary into savory and earthy territory with a sticky grip. It opens with a dazzlingly complex aromatic punch of herbs and a succulent meatiness, which quiets down soon enough but the wine never shuts down. The fruit is in crimson tones, plummy at first and then more towards apple skin hours later as it backs down from that initial generosity, but throughout the bottle it is full and plump, finishing with stony earth. I'm slightly tempted to call it autumnal just on account of the complexion but that doesn't seem to work because there is a very clear sense of freshness here. No leatheriness or other badges of oxidative aging that surface fairly often even in nebbiolos that I *like*: this bottle captured everything in pristine condition, making an exceptionally delicious wine with a robust inner core but a flawless veneer with no rough edges, brimming with generous, richly constituted nebbiolo goodness. — 9 years ago
Nä, men syltigt och trivsamt, helt okomplext, och kommer i tre liter åt gången. Kul i fjällen! — 9 years ago
2011 bottle bought in Stuttgart, Germany (Gentile). Maybe it was just the day I was having but this wine came out of the bottle fantastic and just got better. Didn't want to open a full bottle but it was in the kitchen. Couldn't stop drinking. Big, bold but smooooth. Going back to get another!! — 10 years ago
God vin. Deilig til salte småpoteter dyppet i aeoli. — 10 years ago
Bara idioter som säger att denna är för gammal, den är i sin fulla prime och den smakar tre gånger sitt pris så fuck you — 7 years ago
The 2007 is drinking amazingly well. I'm glad I have another bottle to sit on a little longer. — 8 years ago
After years of drinking Italian, then Spanish, and sometimes French wine im surprised that I have never once considered what Swiss wine is like. Apparently Merlot is the primary red varietal. Nose is true to the grape. Very strong floral. Lemon and honey up front. It does have a very long finish. Good wine, great merlot. — 8 years ago
2006 vintage. Pale ruby hue - some bricking around the rim. After an hour decant. On the nose, medium concentration. Still youthful. Sour cherry, violet and typical tar like aromas. Marzipan and almond paste. Some savoury spice. No obvious oak. Delicate. On the palate, searing acidity - some astringency - powerful tannins, medium plus concentration and finish. Not the best Rinaldi by any means. Slightly lacking in power. More on the delicate side of the scale. NB: with 90 minutes in the glass, the wine is gaining weight and complexity. I am upping the score accordingly. — 8 years ago
This is my go-to bottle of wine when I don't see anything else that I want to try. Always pleasant. Always enjoyable. — 9 years ago
Smooth and silky, tannins in check. Dark fruit, concentrated, dialed up, with leather/saddle and a looong finish. Off the hook venue improves score. — 9 years ago
I had thought Amarones were going to be too sweet for me, but this was not. It could age some more to take the tannin bite out a bit more, but I loved this wine with a steak. 2009 — 9 years ago
I really enjoyed this blend. Whitehall Ln continues to prove to me that their wines are super reliable. — 9 years ago
An excellent red wine. Dry with a pepper finish, which is what I tend to enjoy. Bought while wine tasting in Michigan, celebrating a birthday! — 9 years ago
2009 vintage of this very nice wine. Glad I have more of it! — 10 years ago

I like that one. Tre Bicchieri — 7 years ago
A great food friendly wine. Medium body with light oak. Pairs well with a broad spectrum of Italian dishes. My wife had the short ribs and I had spaghetti with garlic and olive oil. Great pairing with both! — 7 years ago
Ok so I just thought about a spicy blend of earth wind and fi-ya. Delish. We are at the Dabney in Washington DC. Drink it! — 8 years ago
Tasting this wine at tre bicchiere was the first time I really liked it more than the villa. It was deeper, more complex, but not overwrought or tight, with clear notes of black currant, sour cherry, green olive, and dried orange peel. — 8 years ago
When tasted years ago at the Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri this was IMO a basket case. I was regretting my earlier purchase and as a result never purchased another vintage. Similar to a juvenile delinquent who turned their life around. I do not know how the components integrated but they did. Lots of of red fruit and plums with a streak of soil. A medium finish with persistent tannins to remind you what neighborhood you were in. — 8 years ago
Smooth. The best compliment I can pay. — 9 years ago
This is not a style of wine I enjoy but, every guest I've entertained that does like this style LOVES it. — 9 years ago
Named for the three sisters in the winemakers family, this is one of the best wines on the planet. Paso Robles region. I truly believe Paso wines are incredible! — 9 years ago
pre-proposal wine! — 10 years ago
My first time tasting this wine, a declassified Lambrusco if I'm not mistaken. Very fresh fruit and acidity. I want this with pizza! (from last night) — 10 years ago

Curious in its "ready-to-drink-ness"... I guess it's a "2012 thing". Woodsy, complex, red fruits and "life savers". — 7 years ago
