I love this wine. — 11 years ago
1985, 1990 and 1991 blend. Medium tawny colour. The nose is expressive displaying complex aromas of nail varnish remover, tobacco, dark plums, cherries, cedar, mint and walnuts. It is dry in the mouth with a firm acidity and velvety tannins. It is slightly warm but well-balanced by a nice concentration and very long finish. The only thing I don't like about it is that the fruit seems to be dead, just lifted by the volatile acidity. — 11 years ago
I thought bodega Sicilia was only in riveria del Douro but I was clearly wrong. Perfect pairing with sucking pig. — 11 years ago
Way too easy to drink. And cheap. Cheap and easy. Just what I like. Mildly acidic dry fruit finish, soft red cherries, no sweetness but nothing harsh, either. Just really lovely. #nerellomascalese #sicily #italy #rosato #dogsofdelectable — 11 years ago

Lovely wine. I like the Sicilian style. This was a super smooth red. Dark fruit with some spice, and low tannins. Almost drank the entire bottle by myself — 10 years ago
I may just get into this whole natural wine thing... The vino went down quite easy and the price was unbelievable. 10/10 will come back to this island. — 11 years ago
Intense at first in the nose with muddled cherry and blackberry in liquor, this wine is in control with perfectly integrated oak and fine silky tannin. I expect much more of a beast in the glass but this is beautiful and classy. The fruit on the palate has mellowed out and adds spice and grilled herbs. #toro #tintadetoro aka #tempranillo #vegasicilia — 11 years ago

Nero D'Avola is a favorite of mine, as far as an everyday drinking wine goes I just love Nero D'Avola. — 13 years ago
Amazing bottle! Cherries, some earthy tones, and lots of Italian love!! So glad I have a second bottle. — 10 years ago
Great full bodied wine to pair with salami and cheese! — 10 years ago
This was such a pleasant surprise. I don't think I've ever had this varietal w 10 years on it and was utterly impressed. Strawberry bitter chocolate tar and floral. Sorry to see the bottle go. — 11 years ago
Its aglianico, so I love it, but there is better out there. — 11 years ago

Wow. Who knew we would find one of the best bottles on our trip so far at a "hypermarket" selling for €30. Primitivo, I understand to be similar to zin, is one of the two great reds produced in Puglia. Very elegant, easy on the palate and yet held up with red orechiette. — 10 years ago
