Vintage 2016 / VDP Grosse Lage / from the famous Eschendorfer Lump, this is the topwine of Horst Sauer. Has more than any other #silvaner: beautiful acidity, buttery in smell, lots of minerals, awesome balance even now the wine is ultra young. Union, Sauer Wunder. Funky bile nose, and a sour taste sitting smack on top of a slightly malty Brown. Like getting 2 beers for the price of 1! But at least I escaped the snow. — 8 years ago

Petrichor, peach candy rings, dried herbs on nose / juicy white peach, bitter herbs, flint, orange blossom on palate / med+ acidity and medium bodied, with decent length and decent complexity. But for <$20? This is a HUGE win. — 5 years ago
