Jack and Jamie Davies revived the historic vineyards and cellars in 1965, with a goal to produce world-class sparkling wines. Today, their son Hugh, continues their mission. A blend of 88% Pinot Noir and 12% Chardonnay with stone and berry fruit aromas and earthy spice. On the palate the light mousse shows cherry, apple and raspberry flavors with biscuit and slight baking spice notes. Lingering finish, lively acidity ending with creamy yeasty tones. — 9 years ago
Orange? Heavily macerated for sure but delicious — 9 years ago
2004 vintage is going to be oh so fine with our 2015 elk tenderloin tonight...exploding with rich black cherry out of the decanter right after opening...gotta let this puppy chill out for a few before inserting in the face. — 10 years ago

Digging it. The nose draws you in with breakfast country ham and cherry syrup. Honestly, feels like I’m driving up to a Denny’s. However, “old world” notes of forest floor - pine tree bark, dry leaves, and wood chips - develop. Acidity stays relevant, but doesn’t kick your ass. This is why I love Willamette; good fruit, but not boring and extracted. — 8 years ago

Belle Pente means "beautiful slope", 70 acre hillside vineyard on a historic 1840s farmstead 2 miles east of Carlton in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Beautiful nose with ripe berry & floral scents mingling in the glass. Fresh fruit flavors of raspberry & sweet cherry, hints of vanilla oak spice, great balance with vivid acidity. Smooth tannins, lingering finish ending with cedar tones & a nudge of spice. An enjoyable Pinot at great price. Has aging benefits, but why wait. 667 cases, grab all bottles you can find. — 8 years ago
94+ Louis martini killing it recently. This seems richer than the 12. While the Alexander valley is a soft lush wine with great flavor, this monte Rosso brings a punch of structure (this needs time). The Alexander valley (I gave it 93pts) is a hugeeeee value but the monte Rosso delivers for the price as well. Great sub-100 cab from a historic vineyard. I need to compare this to the lot 1. I've preferred this over the lot 1 in the past but I haven't opened my 2012 and 100 pt 2013 lot 1. — 9 years ago

Had both the 12 & 13 Lot 1, you can tell the difference, 13 takes it. 💯🤷♂️ not sure about that, but it is a step above the 12. Parker has given so many 💯's to the point they just are not that special anymore, but they are profitable if you're in the right place at the right time,
Great aromatics with jammy fruit, strawberry compote, boysenberry and baking spice on the nose. Similarly on the palate, plenty of jammy fruit, candied strawberry, nutmeg and cinnamon, with very little tannin and a great lingering finish. Very easy to drink. — 11 years ago
Delicious! Rich and dark Pinot. — 11 years ago
