Dark crisp ruby red in the glass and a nose full of blackberry, bright plums and cocoa. Medium tannins and nicely structured. On the palate it was very aromatic with sage, lavender and rose and a medium to long finish. This is a winner. Love Ladera and the Cabs are world class. — 8 years ago

Clear, deep ruby with tears. Clean nose, mid plus aroma strength of red cherry, dried fruit, smoke, toast, mocha, spice and leather. Dry, high acidity, high tannin, mid plus alc, mid plus body, mid plus flavor strength. With mid plus finish. Very good wine, can age — 9 years ago
Aromas of cherry vanilla and maybe blueberry. Very nice smell. Spicy notes in mouth and nice smooth finish. Very rich fruit. Delicious. — 10 years ago
I do remember....what a wine! — 11 years ago
This is just ridiculous. Act 7. Tastes of deep figs/plums up front as if grandma just baked a pie in your mouth. Finished smooth with a tiny bit of spice and more jams that make you want to cry. More of this please. — 5 years ago
Gentle spice and oaky. A soft leather feel and content on the tongue — 6 years ago
Lovely dark cherries and high acid, great with some Indian spiced lamb chops. Would love to try it with a few more years. — 7 years ago
Can't believe I've held on to this treasure for so long! Cedar and sandalwood on the nose. Silky with a bright and savory--almost vegetal--finish. Perfect with filet and steak-house style garlicky creamed spinach. These grapes were picked when I was still in high school! — 8 years ago

OMG--this old
#Latour is so massive that you could eat it with a fork!
One of the greatest vintages of the 20th century, and, even now, this wine has years of life ahead of it!
And to think that I used to work in a wine shop that had cases piled up ten high priced at $50 per bottle! #1959 — 10 years ago
This one comes from a certified sustainable farm, with blackberry and dried cranberry character, a bit sweet and fruity at the end which makes it perfect for drinking by itself, it won’t go wrong with a nice steak! — 6 years ago
Pale light yellow gold. Lively constant tiny bubbles. Deep round nose with high pitched fruit. Notes of pear, grapefruit, chalk and limestone. With more air you find some citrus and honeysuckle. Chewy in the mouth with great mouthfeel. Coats the entire mouth. Long finish lingers a minute or more. Velvet. Killer juice. Was inspired to open one of these after seeing a friend’s TN this weekend. Glad I did. — 6 years ago
My kind of Malbec-excellent balance, emphasis on freshness, acidity, but the black fruit shines as well, alcohol completely in check. My go to wine shop thought this was their best malbec (out of many) & I agree — 7 years ago

Terrible when I first opened it, but after 4+ hours of aerating, MUCH better. It's a little high on the price, but a really good wine after aerating it. — 9 years ago
Fantastic! High tannins and with a nose full of full bodied dark fruit take a sip and you will taste the black current, dark cherries, and raspberries, and with the scent on the nose the taste will be amplified. Amazing bottle. Great with company and food. — 10 years ago
