Beautiful wine. It came as a complete and oh so pleasant surprise. I had no knowledge of this wine/winery and therefore had no expectations or preconceptions. It was a gift, which meant that I had not seem its price tag. The first sip made me a fan and the ones that followed solidified the admiration. Velvety, full bodied but not "overweight", nice lasting taste, neither fruity nor earthy. A pure joy. — 9 years ago

A good blend that has a nice hint of sweetness showing how pleasant and versatile Portuguese wine is.
Went nicely with handmade Gloucester Old Spot pork sausages and then a beef and mushroom ravioli the following evening.
Decanted for 2 hours before drinking with the sausages.

Rich, ripe red and black fruit turning baked and dried, lots of musky smoke and mild meatiness. Red earth. Tannins resolved. Acid moderate. Yummy and distinctive. As it warmed up it relaxed in a nice way. — 5 years ago
