Dark, slightly sweet fruit, really well-framed by a long, acidic, complex finish. I can't remember having a better new world Syrah. (...and I had Alban before the price went through the roof, and a bottle of Henschke Mt. Edelstone. Only Penfolds St. Henri was on this level.) — 9 years ago
Comparable to henschke Mt Edelston. Never had a bad bottle from Kalleske. — 10 years ago
Rarest, most valuable Barossa Mataro, magnificent too. — 11 years ago
Start on spicies, sweet and warm. The nose is quite intriguing and intense, like a splendid old vine Shiraz from barossa or Henschke HOG. This is solid, powerful and perfectly well executed. The mouthfeel is stunning, figs, Werter's toffee and beautiful confit red fruitZ imagine a Christmas pudding with a sticking acidity. Loved every moment of it. #sqn #sinequanon #california #manfredkrankl — 9 years ago
