Dark red fruit balanced by earth tones that are more reminiscent of Sicily than France. Great for all occasions. — 9 years ago

Over ice with a twist. Musty and earthy, distant sweetness, bitter finishing with the gentian. — 10 years ago
Dutch bottling of Corbieres, eleve en futs de chene in Roermond. The wine did not struck me as special before, but at this moment: wow! The wine trancends its qualification: beautiful smell with cherries, cedar and liquorice. Full bodied And also velvety. Rich wine. — 10 years ago

Delectable: this is Visan Cotes du Rhone AOC.
These are night 2 notes.
This is an unusually tight Southern Rhone. Tight, and not particularly exuberant ripe kirschy-cherry notes, with lots of very clean cracked stone minerality and a nice lavender floral note. Very pure and linear cherry fruit and stony mineral flavors. Some very fine-grained tannin in the finish, together with crisp acids. This will be better in a year. In the meantime, give it air.
Night 3: more complete and integrated. Still fresh, but the fruit and minerals are fusing to create more weight in the midpalate. Bumping to 9.0. But let this age, or if not, breathe "bigly." — 9 years ago

@Delectable Wine This is a VDF from the Moselle in France. Winemaker is Remi Gauthier. This is 100% Pinot Noir. Slamming nose. Cherry cola, big big cherries, licorice, mineral and even ripe strawberry. Super aromatic and wonderful. Unique as well. So juicy and ripen with ample lip smacking mid season cherry fruit and wonderful acidity and freshness. Terrific purity and freshness. Impressive length and so so well made. — 6 years ago
