Dark ruby color with brambly mixed black and red fruit and spice aromas. On the palate it's medium-bodied, and focused with creme de mure, black and red currant, black cherry, and spice with a very appealing minerality. Long finish. A field blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouchet, Grand Noir, Teroldego, Syrah, Black Muscat and Golden Chasselas. From 4.5 acres of wizened, stumplike, dry-farmed, head-trained red vines, which, planted in 1910, produce only half a ton per acre. — 9 years ago
Delicious standard IPA. Drink 2 pints. — 9 years ago
Toasted chocolate covered cherries that took a quick dip in the fire. Let 'er open up a bit and there's some added intrigue for the nose. The tannins approach chewiness but remain on the tame side of that traverse.
A balanced blend that's very approachable. In the glass, it's a deep dark robe thanks to the petit verdot that makes up over half of this blend. Cab Sauv and Merlot make up the other half.

Half bottle showed very well indeed-- is it true half bottles evolve more quickly? This bottle says yes indeed. — 10 years ago
Wow. Garagista bourbon. Small batch isn't the half of it. — 10 years ago
I snuck half this bottle into AT&T Park in a Vitamin Water bottle 😝 — 11 years ago
As good as Bolli for half the price... almost — 11 years ago
Found this bottle in the back of Elie Wine Co in Birmingham. Really nice half bottle. Deep color and some nice dark fruit. Thanks @Todd Abrams for letting me get some experience today. I think this may be the first piece of evidence that I am looking for. I marked it and will continue to look for more evidence😎 — 8 years ago
Early tartness moving on to blackberries and dark damp old forest wood lingering taste after about a half hour. Will get another bottle for 2020!

This girl came out of nowhere and sang like a beast; a Tina Turner of a wine! Blind, I guessed it was an '83 Macon but how the holy hell is this 45 years old? A lovely, old Chardonnay yellow (going by core colour it looks old but it lasts almost all the way to the rim - hardly any water at all); buttery, nutty, with vanilla and asparagus; very little acidity but still present - very long. (from half bottle!) — 10 years ago
1985, 30 years old. Superb!! Took half hour to open up and show lots of fruit and splendid balance. — 10 years ago

“The 2009 Ramey Syrah Rodgers Creek Vineyard… offers up knockout aromatics of blackberry, salted meats, wild herbs, and pepper on the nose. This is followed by a full-bodied, classically styled and structured Syrah that possesses a concentrated, yet elegant feel, integrated acidity, and blockbuster length on the finish.”
- Jeb Dunnuck, The Rhone Report, March 2013
Our Syrahs are grown in the cool climate of the Sonoma Coast, which offers a style reminiscent of the Northern Rhone regions of Hermitage and Cornas. The Rodgers Creek is co-fermented with 9% Viognier and 25% whole grape clusters, leading to aromas and flavors of smoked meat, white pepper, green olive and grapefruit. After two to two and a half years in 100% new French oak barrels sur lies, it is lightly fined with egg whites for greater suppleness and bottled without filtration. — 11 years ago
Best surprise in a long time, had a bottle sent to me from my college roommate half a country away. Very floral, well hopped balanced with a good malt backbone. A balanced beer more IPA than traditional pale ale. Only 10 days old. Would definitely buy if they ever distributed to CO. — 8 years ago
An extra half point for the absolutely stunning label; Washington doing big things — 9 years ago
From giant glasses to microbottles! This Cumbrae Suppy Co. "Fine Old Blended Scotch Whiskey", bottled in the early 1950s, was unmistakably Islay in origin - a beautifully balanced, long, peaty, almost caramelly complex beauty. Honestly one of the best whiskeys I've drunk in a long while. A pity it was only a 10ml bottle, from which half had evaporated!! — 9 years ago
Tasty! Gone Away IPA by Half-Acre Beer Co. — 9 years ago
First half of the bottle was great with pizza, the second half was great cuddling on the couch with the wife during a summer storm. All in all a bottle that I would replace given the opportunity. — 10 years ago
A very drinkable Cab. Picked up half a case for $14.99 a bottle and it is fantastic. Not as complex or bold as more expensive Napa Cabs, but I don't regret having 5 bottles left. — 10 years ago
We we're just going to have a half bottle but, what a surprise, ended up with a second. A pleasant quaff. — 10 years ago
