Thanks for the tip. It was served cold. Alongside lots and lots and lots of oysters. — 9 years ago

Solera Familiar Oloroso Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Dry Palomino Fino

9.5

Smoky, intense, dried fruits, citrus, sweet spices, gently dry finish. In general, the familiar collection from Gutirrrez Colosia is pretty killer. This Oloroso is no exception. — 10 years ago

Caymus Vineyards

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Caymus isn't a wine that drinks well when young, so those people who are drinking 2013 now are idiots. Showing so nicely and paired especially well with the ribeye steak. Graphite, vanilla, cassis, and dusty black fruit. Still firm tannins suggest another 5-10 years wouldn't hurt, but, wow, is it tasty right now. Glad I waited 5 years. Thanks Frank Gutierrez! — 10 years ago

Wow!!! Eric, you just listed all the tasting notes from when it was young and full of graphite, vanilla, cassis and dusty black fruit! I remember when we drank four cases of the 2007 that summer and that's all I can remember....would love to do that all over again:)

The best sherry house! I particularly live the amontillado, yet the PX is excellent as well. — 12 years ago

Gutierrez Colosia

Amerigo Puerto Santa Maria Palomino Fino

9.1

Gutierrez Colosia Fino "Amerigo". A special Fino of about 6 years avg age. Goes through a second fortification to give it a little muscle and then is bottled en Rama. Classically Fino: salty, nutty, and savory. But with a little more density and certainly tastes more serious. — 10 years ago

Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Seco Palomino Fino

Unctuous salinity, waxy tree fruit, sea air and spices. Taut acidity, surprising. Bone dry finish. Excellent Fino. — 10 years ago
