This was a WOW wine when I first tasted it at the Toowoomba RNA. From Heathcote this is best described as Côte Rotie on steroids! Impenetrably dark in colour with powerful pepper and rich dark fruit. Will easily live for 20 years but amazing now. Spoke to Tom Guthrie, the winemaker, today. He sold all of the 2010 to the Chinese, 2011 not produced as terrible vintage, and this 2012 only 60 dozen for the world of which I took 1 doz. Cool climate yet powerful. Stunning wine. 96 points. — 10 years ago
