The 2019 Rocca di Montegrossi Rosato is gorgeous, both spicy and floral, with zesty bright cherry and a hint of grapefruit. On the palate, silky, soothing textures usher in ripe red fruits offset by vibrant acids, as hints of sweet spice and salty minerals buzz on the senses. The finish is medium in length and remarkably fresh. (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2020)

In a great spot. What a unique partnership between Santadi and Tenuta San Guido... A little green from the younger 10% Cab Sauv, but integrated and complex — 9 years ago
Nice sharp flavor, crisp. Pairs great with food without being too heavily bodied. Notes of pepper, low tannins. — 9 years ago
Good dry Prosecco. Rose. Try some. — 9 years ago
The 2019 Pinot Bianco Riserva Vorberg has an exotic flair, blending rich notes of vanilla custard with white flowers, crushed pears and hints of sweet spice. It’s silky and deeply textural, washing creamy waves of ripe orchard fruits across the palate, while leaving saline-minerals that create a more tactile feel. There are depths yet unseen here, as the 2019 comes across as densely packed and layered, yet with perfect balance and a tart citrus reverberation that adds energy. It finishes long and lightly structured, leaving the palate completely refreshed. This is just a baby today, yet it is full of potential. I tasted the Vorberg from a freshly opened bottle and one that had been opened for two days without any sign of decline. (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2022)

Cherry pie Nebbiolo. Tart bing cherries, almonds, baking spices, acacia, red licorice, white pepper. Drinkable now, maybe not later.
Highest QPR for a Langhe thus far in the 2015s at $22. Fruit forward for sure, but quite enjoyable. — 6 years ago
Fantastic with food, good body, not as astringent as expected. Will actively seek out. — 7 years ago

Franciacorta DOCG Max Rosé, 12.5%, degorged in 2013. Nice pink color, good fruity nose with hints of confectionery. In the mouth the perlage is crisp, the taste is very pleasant and leaves the mouth very clean. 86/100 — 10 years ago
The 2020 Soave Classico wafts up with enticing notes of kiwi and sour melon contrasted by savory herbs. It’s deeply textural and round in feel, with a tart interplay of lemon and lime that’s nicely offset by a pleasant inner sweetness. There’s wonderful harmony here, as the 2020 tapers off with green botanicals and a flourish of minerality. This “entry-level” Soave Classico from Pieropan punches well above its price point. Since Pieropan makes three different bottlings, one from each tank, of their Soave, I thought it prudent to add the lot number for reference. (Lot# 26.10.21) (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2022)

The 2015 Rosso de Veo is monstrously intense yet wonderfully balanced, showing masses of crushed black cherry, balsamic spice, stone dust and wild, exotic florals on the nose. Velvety textures give way to ripe red and blue berries with a spicy-citrus twang, backed by stimulating acids, as saline-minerality saturates under a coating of liquid violets. This finishes long, staining the palate with fruit concentrate and grippy tannins, yet considering how structured this is, there’s a balance here that provides plenty of pleasure already. This is simply gorgeous and has a very bright future ahead of it. (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2021)

Fun and bright red fruit. Nice light and balanced tannins. Better than anticipated considering the price point. Was a delightful pairing with Lasagna Hamburger Helper while camping on the coast. Would stock up on it for casual drinking with pizza, spaghetti, etc. — 7 years ago
Bright easy fun fruity. Christmas wine from dad — 8 years ago
A lovely Swiss Merlot, rich, complex, elegant and fruity. Ticino is the capital of Swiss Merlot and the platinum is a gorgeous example of this local savoir faire. The grapes of Platinum are dried before being pressed to achieve maximum density and concentration. The wine is aged in barrel for about 20 month. It has a dark garnet red, nose perfumed with black and red berries, spices, licorice, herbs, a touch of bell peppers and plums, medium to full body, nice acidity, green tannins, long fruity finish, my score 89, drink to 2019 perhaps longer. — 9 years ago

The 2021 Greco di Tufo Loggia della Serra’s alluring bouquet combines honeyed florals, peaches and mint. It’s soft-textured and sleek, with vibrant acidity and tropical citrus to elevate ripe orchard fruits. Mango and chamomile stick around on the dramatically long and complex finish. Wow. $24.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, July 2023) — a year ago
