1994 Artadi Grandes Anadas Reserva Tempranillo. Dinner at Tap during staycation. K couldn't remember where or how he had gotten this, but thought it was worth a try. Drank after the '08 Flowers PN and what a contrast. This wine was big, chewy and funky- not barnyard, but earth, mushrooms, musty moss. A predictably loved this wine. We really enjoyed it and thought that it drank great, but could hold a while longer. — 9 years ago

I actually really enjoy the ones that have a couple grams of sugar. They're all over the place in Europe because we have all the ones that are too sweet in the states. — 12 years ago
Initially dry on palate then blooms into luscious fruit. — 6 years ago

Being a huge PYCM fan that I am, this was the first "meh" bottle I've had. It was still Pierre-Yves with mouth-watering acidity, summer fruit aromas and all that — just a bit too toasty to my taste, a bit too much of pronounced oak. It lacked that masculine elegance that I'm after in PYCM wine, but still was delicious and lovely. — 9 years ago

Rocks, chalk, still zinging acidity, altogether really enjoyable. — 11 years ago

Sur-lee aged for 12 months. Brioche, pears, apples, but light bodied and fresh. — 7 years ago
Not much nose, quite closed. And it was even decanted. Must be going through a phase. But the taste is still elegant with stone, citrus, salt, just enough roundedness. Quite restrained. — 8 years ago
From split opened half hour before consumption. Earth, red fruit, and a hint of funk. Smooth tannins; searing acidity. Probably could use another five years to achieve better balance. — 8 years ago
Un grand pauillac? Not sûre. C bon. Une côte rôtie encore. — 9 years ago
