A fabulous red wine from burgundy...it is our favourite wine district in France! — 8 years ago
I had a bottle of this wine a while ago and it was spectacular: 94pts. The second, which I drank a few weeks ago, was very good, but not as good as the first one, but still pretty decent: 90 pts. On average 92. A fine claret by the owners of Cheval Blanc. — 9 years ago
Velvet fruits, very little tannin, lingering after taste — 9 years ago
Fantastic. Wish I had bought two of them. — 11 years ago
Comes out earthy and a touch funky, which fades with time open, leaving behind pure brambly berry fruit. Delicate, with good concentration and length. — 4 years ago
Strolled into Trader Joe’s; the shelf was stocked with this. Couldn’t believe it. Picked up another half case. This is a phenomenal bordeaux and one of the best QPRs around. Haven’t tasted in a year and it’s just as memorable. Lots of great mushroom and sweaty gym socks with a dusty, tannic finish. Perfect example of a phenomenal wine at sub-$20 that drinks at 3-4x the price. — 7 years ago
Big WOW! I tasted this wine in September 2018 at the event held by the French embassy at Central World in Bangkok, Thailand; the wine did not impress my tounge at all. However, I bought 2 bottles because a friend of mine imported it. Today (Jan 18, 2019), the wine tasted very delucious after 30 minutes of breathing. Very flavorfull of cherry, blackberry, plum, and tobacco together with soft tannins and silky & reasonable length on the finish. The color is intense but bright ruby red color with medium-to-full-weight which is goes well with medium & sexy acidity. Very good value, excellent balanced, and savory wine to pair well with medium spicy Thai dishes. — 7 years ago
Lots of plumy fruit flavors. Hints of cola and tobacco. A bit young but quite good for the price point. A little astringent alcohol on the finish, but bottle age should smooth that out. Excellent value for a CDP. Revisited in February 2020. As predicted, the astringency has mellowed out. Wine comes out of the bottle very fruit forward, but the organics come to the surface in short order. Thank you Keith S. — 8 years ago

Tasty. Perhaps a little early to drink now. — 10 years ago
Got it at Costco. Light body with full flavor. A bit earthy in a good way. — 11 years ago
Very easy. Not too strong or complex, but nice. And there are tannins. Hints of red fruit. — 12 years ago
Love this style of wine. Nose jumps out at you with bright cherry fruit, spice, loads of minerals and lovely forest floor. Ripe and lurid. Soupy in the best way. Really airy, high toned and just so aromatic. Very impressed. Palate is sweet and succulent with very impressive tang and length. A haunting opulent and terrific texture adds to the allure. Fresh and juicy with terrific energy and purity. Long with superb powdery tannins. — 5 years ago
The nose is different. Much more woodsy and less fruit than I’d have imagined. The flavour profile was blackberry based and again, some wood. Some eucalyptus and green grass. Also some wet soil and cloves. The tannins weren’t a punch in the face by any means, but also haven’t haven’t completely softened as you might expect in a ten year-old. The palate was uninspiring as there was a watery-ness in the mid palate. I’m not sure whether this is over the hill or just not quite there yet and in a dumb phase? Will wait and see for the final two bottles. Solid, I guess. Not yet amazing. — 7 years ago
Grand vin!!! Du velours, concentré, profond, complexe, très long. Tout est harmonieux, sans jouer dans l’excès. La grande classe! — 8 years ago

It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Deep ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Red fruits on the nose with spices and dark chocolate notes.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black plums, currants, light oak, coffee, herbs, chocolates, licorice, spices, light earth, black pepper, tobacco leaf and black tea.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is very tasty Merlot from Saint Emilion. Complex and rich. Nicely balanced, fruit forward and elegant.
This 5 year old Merlot based blend is still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but already drinking nicely.
Interesting enough to drink as a sipping wine, or with food.
A blend of 69% Merlot and 31% Cabernet Franc. Aged in (50% New) French Oak barrels for 16 months.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
