Cuvée Tradition Gigondas Grenache 2014

Molto delizioso. E gigondas che non ho una volta di assagiare anche ha una reputazione brava. Sarebbe in grade alto, ma per fortuna ho una volta di provare. Garnet wine aveva il sconto. Grazie garnet wine! — 6 years ago

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey

Bourgogne Chardonnay 2014

Drinks well above grade. For an entry level wine, just stunning. Has nectarine notes, good minerality, some tension. Better than 98% of Cal Chards. At $30 a bottle, an excellent value. Does Pierre Yves make any bad wines? — 7 years ago

Barolo Nebbiolo 2009

Taunt tannins and a blaze of acid paint a delicious picture of balance! Dried strawberrish and cherries quietly play bass, while underbrush and black currant play a bigger role. It's a lot of substance for a wine sold under $20. Needs an hour or more of decant, a low grade diamond in the rough! — 10 years ago

Helena Montana Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

According to my dining and drinking companions, "Full-bodied, meaty, and smooth", " Everything you'd want in a Cab Sauv", "Reminds you of everything delicious", "I was in 5th grade in 2005". Hear, hear! 🍷 — 6 years ago

Has the grassy grapefruit you would expect from a NZ SB but it's complimented greatly with the taste of a sweeter stone fruit like guava. Grade A 10/10 would buy again. — 7 years ago

Also magnum- the better of the two, more balanced - not quite showing the heat as much- smoother softer finish. Nice layers to this one..riper cab, but not too ripe. 9.1+? — 9 years ago

Brut Reserva Catalunya Macabeo-Xarel-lo-Parellada

Plays above its pay grade. Complex and pleasing aromas, fine pillage, crisp and refreshing acids, soft textures, clean finish with stony and toasty notes. I think I paid around $15. Looking for a fine sparkler without breaking the bank? Go no further. — 7 years ago

Grade Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon The Grade Winfield Vineyard 2010

This small production (270 cases) wine made by TRB spends 22 months in French Oak and needed a lot of time to come together (decanted over 5 hours). Deep red in the glass, cedar dominated the nose. The wine is tight on the entry but dark fruits, notably plum, shine through. The mouthfeel is light for a cab, and especially for what I've come to expect from TRB, and the finish is short and very dry(ing). This is good but I think just needs more time to come together and soften a bit. — 7 years ago
