Le Virtuose Lirac Red Rhone Blend 2014

Medium intensity, rich ruby red, floral on the nose along with red fruit, earthy mushroom undertones and slight hints of chocolate. In the palate light mouth feel, full of fruit, strawberries and cherry. No to light tannin, medium acid compliments the earthy after taste. Amazing with goats cheese, cherry tomatoes on pane do casa or with quince paste. — 5 years ago

A big burgundy. Lots of taste, can actually have this with a nice veal steak. Of course it's 2010 so no sure if others will be as good. — 8 years ago

Best wine of the year so far. Earthy, salty, with excellent dark and red berry notes. Moderate tannin and acid - nothing stole the show. Love this. Love. 2012 vintage - will be good for many years to come. — 9 years ago

Enough Mourvèdre to present as lightly oaked with good spice and funk. Tannins are abundant with plenty of compelxity on the palette. Wonderful value gigondas. — 6 years ago

Le Hardi Côtes du Rhône Red Rhone Blend 2015

An 80/20 blend of Grenache/Syrah from 50 year old vines planted in red clay and limestone. There’s a distinctively tropical lift embedded in this alluring mixture of red fruit, rose petal, lavender, stone, and garrigue. A charmer, both intellectually and hedonistically. — 7 years ago

Great Chignin. Fairly light body, ruby color, peppery. I opened it this morning for cooking and am highly tempted to drink before noon. Also good value -- not expensive. — 7 years ago

Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Chardonnay Pinot Beurot

Wow. Very crisp, tight acid. Some wild liqueur aromas up front (frangelico??) but they ease of after a few minutes. Settling in to a gorgeous but unusually bright and slightly astringent glass of wine. — 7 years ago

(9/2016) Real Pinot Noir at a great price. This cuvee was bottled exclusively for our Chicago-based importer by Guillaume Gonnet, co-owner of Font de Michelle in Chateauneuf du Pape. Fresh, fruit-forward and soft, this is a best-in-category value.
