Burnt orange peels, pecans, level acidity, some almond at the finish. Decent length. 18% ABV. — 9 years ago
Still solid red, only slightly bricking towards the rim. Nose is elegant, cedar and blackcurrant with a touch of menthol. Palate is smooth, beautiful weight and still mostly primary fruit; blackcurrants and plums with a hint of spice. A lovely bottle of well aged Aussie Shiraz. Top stuff. — 10 years ago

with lam and jon in oakland. September 19,2017 — 9 years ago
Probably the BEST CF I have ever had! Screams of French finesse and fruit. Had the sophistication of a blend with the pristine persona of a single varietal. It has a long ethereally sweet finish interwoven into structured tannins and ample acidity. This was like an M5 ready for any road. Just bought two more for the cellar :) — 9 years ago
The pale golden straw color is appealing, while the nose certainly isn’t scaring anyone away. Clean earth notes define the apple, papaya and lime aromas beautifully. The palate shows off-dry pear, apple and Meyer lemon flavors on a bed of acidity. Finishing long, it’s the earth and citrus that stays around after the sip. The wine’s body makes it a lot more versatile that just “salads and sipping.” Winemaker Markus Niggli recommends you pair it with anything off the grill. — 10 years ago
Light red fruit good acid. Enjoyable wine and a great value — 10 years ago

A very good bottle of wine and even better for the price. Price v quality makes it one of the best values in my opinion. — 11 years ago
Great balance of sweet nuttiness and cutting acid. — 12 years ago
With friends in town during Thanksgiving, I hit up some wineries that I’ve been curious about. Super cool experience at Aonair. Grant Long, Jr has created something special there, and with David Yorgensen at the helm with the wines, it feels all dialed in. Their Grenache was a surprise to me. From El Dorado and there’s some initial funk, but it blows off and what’s left is a balanced, mineral driven, but kirsch laden, and yet still, a bright style wine that’s quite reminiscent of something from Chateauneuf du Pape. — 7 years ago

Very dense... this is a serious Pinot. Subtle dark cherries smell and flavors. A masculine wine.. — 7 years ago
