Good crisp glass. Strong pear but clean finish — 8 years ago
Kiwi claret. Can compare to a modern style classified growth Bordeaux or a Super Tuscan. 2006 and could last another decade. Nice depth and length of flavour with good acidity. Purchased at the winery in Hawkes Bay. — 8 years ago
Fruit forward, dark cherry, dried herb. Fruit upfront, ripe cherry, texture tannin, dense flavors, structured with good body weight. — 9 years ago

Like this a lot, in good company too! — 10 years ago
Lush and bright with a crisp finish. Lime, green apple, kiwi, white peach and a little melon with a smattering of herbs rather than heavy pyrazines. Lots of acidity for freshness, although a bit high in alcohol, so has some body. The oak doesn’t get in the way for me, as it often does w SB — it adds to the texture and lush mouthfeel and adds a a hint of spice, but otherwise pretty classic. — 3 years ago

Has a rich scent, slightly buttery with blackberry and ripe black cherry flavour hints. Finishes clean, definitely a favourite. — 7 years ago
Nose of ripe; blackberries, blueberries, black plum, black raspberries, dark cherries, white & black pepper, soft, chalky minerals with light & dark fresh florals. On the palate, lean; blueberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, cherries, black licorice, soft baking spices; clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, powdery crushed rocks, leather, dry & fresh dark florals with understated white & black pepper. Pretty pretty pretty, even 3 years after vintage. Lemon zest, honeysuckle, sweet cream, mango with a fabulous zesty acidity that's making me reach for more. Love! — 8 years ago
Black cherry, raspberry notes. Fair amount of acidity. Paired well with baked salmon. — 9 years ago
Black pepper aromas. Lots of acidity, mild tannins in the finish. Went nicely with pasta & meatballs. Could use a few more years of bottle age. — 9 years ago

Excellent w halibut in green sauce. Great depth for a Chenin with enough acidity to balance the fruit. — 8 years ago
Deep purple colour and lovely inviting wild blackcurrant bouquet. Very pleasant blackberry and plum flavour, the alcohol level not extreme but at a noticeable level though. Bought from selfridges. — 9 years ago
Best buy for the buck--my white go to. Fruit forward dry finish. Good body but drinkable. So much in this little wine! 2014 — 9 years ago
Clean simple new zealand wine. Not trying to be anything it is not. I am starting to really like hawkes bay. — 10 years ago
MaJ CappS
This has one of those brilliant, well polished high def née world wine noses.
Subtle fruit, yet so perfect the aroma.
A touch of salinity leads to classic Cab fruit, that hint of almond, those delicately placed petals on the palette, persimmon in the end game, with minty acidity and well focused tannin.
I’d say this wine has come together perfectly with time. — 3 years ago
