Very soft, light color. Great first impression, little after taste — 10 months ago
Spicy and earthy. Great fruit and balance. Really coming together. — a year ago
Quite light ruby , wide light ruby rim . Rose and strawberry, raspberry, red cherry scented, slight hint of anis and fresh herbs. In the mouth nice sweet red fruits , cherry and strawberry , that touch of anis again . Pretty refreshing acidity , quite fine but noticeable tannins . Reasonable length and overall nicely balanced . This benefitted from a bit of air , and though young was a good match with a rather simple pasta with Bolognese sauce. This is good from now (with food and time in the decanter ) though will offer good drinking over the next 3-5 years . A nice and well made Langhe Nebbiolo.

Light body and very "Pinot Noir" like. Bright red cherry and strawberry flavors. Mild tannins and light oak. Hint of smoke. Refreshing. Chill it a bit below cellar temp. Great story about the winery. A Mt. Etna lava flow just went around them 30 years ago. — 9 years ago

In great shape; exciting acid& drunken cherries. Neat — 10 years ago
Very good Rosso di Montalcino! Especially with hard cheese and Italian bread! Would also be great with pasta, grilled meats, etc al. Just okay as a sipping wine but comes alive with food!Cherries, brambley fruits, low tannins, good qpr especially as compared to Brunello! — 5 months ago

Cranberries and cherries on the nose. Savory, elegant and mid weight. Delicious. Nerello Mascalese 85% and Nerello Cappuccino 15% field blend 100 years old. Planted at 1640 feet on the volcanic soils of Mount Etna. — 2 years ago

Very nice; fruity. We had with baked Brie and baked hummus with feta, olives, and tomato on top - December 2016 — 8 years ago
Through a veil of transparent berry fruit and delicate dried flowers the secondaries become the primaries: damp earth, mushroom tea, tomato leaves. Fine acidic structure. — 9 years ago
Smooth blend. Good dinner choice to pair with hearty dishes. — 10 years ago
Life affirming,aged etna rosso-wow — 11 years ago
Beautiful, engaging nose. Full bloom, pink & red roses, cherry hard candy, layered, soft spice, dark cherries, strawberries, raspberries, light herbal notes, hint of bubble gum.
Pretty, ripe, juicy palate. Fruits are light; raspberries, cherries, strawberries and blackberries & black raspberry hues. Wet river stone, dry limestone powder, more pronounced dark, dry tannins, dry herbs, dark spice with some heat, light, dry tobacco notes, barrel dust, bright red & pink roses, magnificent acidity with a very pleasant elegant, polished finish that lands on spice and lasts 90 seconds.
Really good value and one to pick up. — 6 months ago
Fine bubbles, bright and juicy with a dry finish. Yummy notes of cherry — 7 months ago
Medium ruby with quite narrow terracotta , garnet rim. Cut herbs , raspberry, dried red cherry , dried rose , slightly smoky note and a basalt , stony hint. On the palate quite rounded and ripe with some red focused sweet sous bois , raspberry coulis and dried herbs , anis , dried herbs . Alcohol does stick out a bit with medium quite rounded sweet tannin , with just balanced acidity . Reasonable anis , black tea and dried herb finish . This is at the end of its drinking window but still showing quite well . Drink now , and I would recommend serving at a relatively cool temperature — 9 months ago
Very nice, slightly dry but smooth. Great with meatloaf. — a year ago
Made from 50 to 100 year old vines and matured for 18 months in small and large oak vessels, of which 20% are new. Medium-ruby, the 2020 Terre Nerre Calderara Sottana is introduced by a hauntingly fragrant scent of red and black cherries, wild blackberries, Mediterranean herbs and crushed granite rock. The medium to full-bodied palate is marked by a firm tannic structure, nervy tension and wonderful fruit complexity, closing with an elegant, persistent finish. Drink now until 2040. — 2 years ago
Barbera & Bonarda blend from an Emilia Romagno maker. I love this style- gave a good 45+ min decant. Imagine the Bonarda offsets the Barbera fruitiness. Keeps a taut line btw vegetal acidity & that earthy fruitiness. Natural maker of some serious orange wines. 13% alcohol. Didn’t hurt that we drank at sunset, on the Hudson River at home. — 6 years ago
Lush fruit integrated with bretty Ness with aplomb. Spicy finish but not too much thought. — 9 years ago
