Napa Valley Chardonnay 2013
First time trying wines from Gibbs Napa Valley, one thing that really sparked our interest in Gibbs, is that they are making high quality wines out of Napa Valley juice for an affordable price point. We started off with their Chardonnay, it was clear and straw yellow. Beautiful nose filled with lots of tropical fruits, like guava, melon, and other white fruits. Slightly nutty undertones on the nose as well. Definite oak influence in this wine, but thankfully no buttery notes (not butter in our wine fans). Creamy texture, full bodied that was balanced with some great moderate acidity (6/10). Lots of white fruits such as pears on the palate. Hidden underneath were some soft vanilla notes as well. As it opened up there were some light earthy/outdoorsy notes like some light hay with a moderate plus finish. As for day two, there was nothing there....seriously the bottle was empty!
We are generally not the biggest white wine fans but over the past month with trying wines like this Gibbs Chardonnay, it is starting to lead us towards the light. We guess you could say that. Stunning Chardonnay and killer QPR/value wine. If you love Chardonnay and you want to try something under $25.00 but not your always on discount wine at your local grocery store, you need to check this one out! — 8 years ago

Obsidian Block Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
A well-crafted tasty Napa Cabernet at a nice price. Velvet tannins with nice dark fruit and black cherry with a touch of pepper. It has all the elements of a thoroughly enjoyable wine. — 9 years ago
