Named best Chardonnay in the world outside of Burgundy by Decanter magazine UK which is a big call indeed. Subtle tropical fruit nuances. Carrying a little oak but not overly so. Very satisfying. Impressive to out point Aussie Legends Leeuwin Estate and Giaconda. Right up there IMO. 18. — 9 years ago
Notes of wood varnish. Medium to light weight palate. Not overly complex. Some sappiness. I think Beechworth is much better at Chardonnay than Pinot in my tasting experiences which include some old Giaconda Pinots as well. 16.5 — 9 years ago

Rick Kinzbrunner makes the rk series of wines (Shiraz and Chard) on contract for Vintage Cellars. He sources the fruit from local high quality sites that produce some knockout wines. This 2012 Shiraz is a really solid wine now but will improve significantly over time. A more savoury and deep style than some of Ricks other (estate) wines, the 2012 rk takes the famous Giaconda style and makes it accessible. — 9 years ago
Definitely not a wine one has every day. A southern Rhone blend not dissimilar to the now defunct Giaconda Aeolia. Aromatic peachy notes with a full unctuous full bodied palate with some residual sweetness. A blend of Marsanne Rousanne and Viognier. Very much a head turner and a WOW wine for me but might be too much for some. 18. This is the 2013 vintage. — 9 years ago
Willamette Chardonnay continuing to impress, a lot of Giaconda about this — 10 years ago
A pretty amazing northern Victorian cool climate Shiraz that does not have the normal price tag. Giaconda creates an interesting well priced wine with great fruit, balance and structure. — 11 years ago

Well this was a rare old beauty! All leather, smoky tobacco, charcuterie, rosemary amid some sensationally developed fruit. Funky old stuff which was a bit polarising. — 9 years ago
