Bright fruit with nice acidity and fine tannins make this a great match for food! — 9 years ago
Always enjoy the 2000 Barolos. This is drinking well. Prune, cherries, elegance and well balanced. — 10 years ago
Hard mentha edge, yet full of classic favors that should develop with time. But quite yum now. — 11 years ago
Whoa, a bargain baby. Although it shows some edges, time will tell how they resolve. A touch of VA on the nose took a sec to blow off, then it screamed of red fruit and smoldering tar. The tar thankfully went from smoldering to sparking off here and there, but then the earth, wow, this is earthy, but still, the fruit dominates. The palate nails the Nebbiolo high amounts of everything (acid, alcohol, tannins structure). But the tannins play fairly, a highlight accessory, not a scene stealer. The tannic grip hangs on but in tandem with fruit and soil into which rose petals may have fallen last spring. I can’t believe the price on this bebe. — 10 months ago

Beautiful. Youthful. 5 more years at least to maturity. — 11 years ago
Lovely nose of tar & roses, dark cherries, spice & a long long finish on the palate. Superb — 11 years ago
Light bodied slightly frizzante - well balanced, fruit, spice, slight tang. Really nice! Leith got at The Wine Store! Would love to get again — 8 months ago
On the nose, this is bright blackberry, raspberry, and foreboding char... On the palate, this becomes all cranberry to me... Concentrated... Juicy... Acidic... Refreshing... Leather... Tannins are just carpet-level... Bright all the way theough a long finish... Cocoa? I love a great Barbera and I chose this wine as a pairing for a Carbonara pasta dish I was making... I thought this was an outstanding pairing nicely cutting through the oiliness of the dish, playing well with the egg, and honestly the length here made it a great sipper between tastes of the pasta. Loved it. — a year ago
Required almost 2 hours of decanting. It was quite the experience because this Barolo continued to evolve and provide new flavours throughout the night. Plums, figs, berries, strawberries, raspberries, followed by vanilla, oak, humidor notes, earth, mild herbaceousness, truffles. Tannins are big, chewy but soft and persist for a long time. It’s a complex wine that provides gifts of new flavours that are very well integrated. — 7 years ago
Good on day 4. Black. Freisa, Cab, Merlot. — 10 years ago
Love this. Tart and flowery maybe? — 10 years ago
'07 vintage. Knockout aromatics. Chunky and chewy, bit of time in the decanter and the haunting perfume raises its beautiful head. Brilliant structure. Classically trained. — 11 years ago

Opened too young; lovely and exceptionally made wine. Brickish red/brown. I let decant for a loooong time. Lots of cranberry and red fruit, some herbs, clay, faint cedar and tobacco. The acidity was med-high, but the tannins really softened out with aeration. I'd say this is still developing flavors and will be 95+ in a decade. — 6 months ago
