Needs a lot of time to open. Super tight at the open. Give it some time and flavors are abundant. Deep dark fruit and finish that goes on for ever. — 7 years ago

Magical. Concentrated white grape herbaceousness slight hint of vanilla and fantastic acidity. Comes back up your throat with a kiss that lingers and linger. Bravo Genevieve! — 10 years ago
First time trying an old Felton Road and a Block 5 courtesy of Can. Forest floor, some black fruits. Great concentration with depth and intensity of flavour. Good length but never felt over-blown or heavy. Shows why this wine is an icon. 94 points — 11 years ago

14 drinking near peak of mature brightness and silky tannins - really balanced front to back...I really love Melville! I think it’s the most underrated winery in the US likely! Really expressive and nice pure fruit! — 6 years ago

Sour red cherries, wild strawberry, horse shit, mushrooms. Wild acidity. Years ahead of it. Fresh. Vital. — 8 years ago
Minty. Black currant. Super smooth. Very far from a standard Shiraz glop bomb. Surprisingly fresh and lively at 13 years old. — 9 years ago

When compared side by side with Liparita's less expensive Rutherford Cab release, V Block can be likened to a parent's favorite offspring. Although both wines may share similar genetic material and upbringing, V Block has gained more dimension and self confidence through increased care and attention from infancy. #ridiculous :p — 10 years ago

Still too early to the party. Second time at this, still needs a few years. Oh has it changed in a year though. It’s massive. Deep nose of fruit, with silky tannins and deep black fruit on the palate. Olive and charcuterie. Round out this incredible expression of Syrah. Time will be kind but it’s limited — 5 years ago
