Never disappoints. Nothing better to cure my broken ankle blues than some of Randy Dunn's genius juice. — 9 years ago
Excellent grenache from Manfred at SQN...but not etherial. As I'm writing that I realize that this is still awesome - just that Manfred sets the bar absurdly high. Blackberries, kirsch, and a hint of licorice on the nose. Very full mouthfeel with lots of glycerin. The wine is a lot more evolved than I was expecting - possibly a consequence of a warm vintage? - so I'm not sure how many more years of evolution this has left (then again, this is my last bottle of this, so whateves!). Manfred is a genius. 'Nuff said. — 9 years ago

Ripe tropical fruit nose, carries to palate with tight acidity and rich long finish. Gorgeous. — 11 years ago

Consistently competes with Mr Guigal for pure Syrah genius. A WooHoo wine — 12 years ago

Soooo reticent. We enjoyed this over three days, not because we wanted to but because we HAD to. If you are looking for immediate gratification, this wine AIN'T it. You enjoy this wine for the bright future ahead of it, and the wonderful family behind it.
Do yourself a favor and drink the Tanbark Hill while listening to a podcast where the Genius Mr. Togni explains his adventures in wine. A filet mignon and fingerling potatoes wouldn't be a bad idea either. Bordeaux class, California sunshine! — 9 years ago
Maybe my favorite vintage of this wine. Sexy nose. Herbal, vegetable in the way Silvaner can only do it (sweet sugarsnap peas and the such) with intense minerality. So refined. I mean so refined. Ask floral. Just a symphony of Silvaner. Palate is pure magic. Juicy and OMG this is so refined and elegant. And man is this deep. This is a wine that has to be tasted to be believed to see what a genius Paul is and how great Silvaner can be. — 9 years ago
Awesome beer if you enjoy porters — 10 years ago
Old Calabria is number one on my personal travel books top list, wrote by that British genius who was Norman Douglas. Now this is the optimum wine to pair with such a reading: rarity, daring, intensity... only to mention few of the features we'got stated in here. Name of the wine's: 'A Vita - La Vite, The Vine in Calabrian dialect in harmony with The Life/La Vita as well - it focuses from the start the insane complexity and discloses the fleeing of the whole subject in itself! Salute e lunga Vita, thou good Old Cirò! — 11 years ago
This is a cleverly disguised Syrah...drinking so well. Near genius. — 11 years ago

One of my personal favorite #Burgundy regions, Mercurey. Aubert & Pamela de Villaine's 2011 'Les Montots'--this dusty, truffled, earthy genius was really so pretty. Needs a wee bit of time to open up, but the cheery lil cherry bits sure were tasty! #ShadowsintheVineyard tasting. #certifiablydelish — 11 years ago
Natural Muscat from the genius Meyer. Not for everyone but I loved this dry, sour mama with typical Muscat aromatics. — 11 years ago
