More the classic Burgundian nose not as bold as Pansiot or the Dugat just a gorgeous earthy perfume. Stewed Rhubarb notes. Loved the balanced intensity- simply brilliant from what many consider is a B List Grand Cru but in the hands of Leroy it becomes something magical (and expensive). One taster in our group gave this 99. The guys from Prince reckon Leroy across the board is now dearer than DRC. — 9 years ago

Spice box, decaying leaves and a hint of smoke mingle with red cherry, red raspberry and cranberry fruit on the complex nose. The palate showcases the candied yet fresh nature of the fruit in excellent wines from 2002. The acidity is vibrant and the tannins round soft and textured. Just dynamite. — 9 years ago
