Light, crisp easy drinking... stores have figured it out because price keeps going up... Marlborough region of N.Z. Great with herbed or pepper cheeses, and strawberries and grapes. — 6 years ago
The 1985 Lafite-Rothschild is only a modest success in the context of the vintage. Here, it is totally outclassed by the 1985 Las Cases. Light, slightly loose-knit red berry fruit on the nose is complemented by warm gravel and smoky aromas, though it lacks a bit of energy. The palate is nicely balanced, not powerful but focused, with adequate freshness. As mentioned in my previous tasting note, this has dispensed with some density in recent years, and if your expectations are modest, it remains enjoyable. Tasted at Hameau de Barbaron in Burgundy. Color of bubbly egg white. Nose of honey , a bit gasoline, pineapple, and actually a bit nutty and oaky note. Taste is sweet honey, some zesty peel, Sprite, citrus, lemonade like flavor, light yet refreshing. Aftertaste is a bit short, but definitely a crowd pleaser. — 8 years ago
Gold copper. Wildly fragrant. Flower shop, cured meats, pepper, tangy peach. M+ body, sour, light bitterness. Long skin maceration gives it a slight stick of tannin. Awesome. — 9 years ago
A beautiful example of contrast & tension. Fleshy red berries are at the core surrounded by shimmering acidity and a light spiciness. That spice gently walks the line between an herbal or savory note on the back of the palate. This is on the light side of medium bodied, but possesses an almost creamy texture, yet another contrast. I usually love Trousseau with fish, but this was brilliant with bibimbap. @Tegan Passalacqua — 10 years ago

Fall colors, fading garden bounty. Dinner at Cindy P's house. — 12 years ago
Endless rosary of tiny bubbles, within a light golden straw color. Nice compromise on the nose between aromas of freshly made brioche and bread dough, and green apple, and citric acidity. The tangyness in this champagne es fenomenal. Great body to it, very harmonious and interesting composition. Great value for the price. Its acidity is really seductive and gracious. Very discreate orangy flavor on the ligering finish. 91 pts. — 12 years ago
Very very light and diluted straw color. Lemon & honeysuckle on the nose. Palate is a bit heavier than I anticipated. Plenty of lemon citrus, white peach, nectarine, some green melon, underripe green pear, and some mineral notes. Tart, but lingers on the palate. I dislike using this word but it’s very quaffable, as they say 🙃. A crowd pleaser. — 5 years ago
Medium gold. Great weight in the glass. Fruit forward nose. Big impact. Notes of sweet apricot, pineapple, kiwi fruit, wet stones and some honey. Rich in the mouth with light acidity at first but it builds with time in the glass. Great texture. Still youthful. — 6 years ago
Deep garnet red with lots of bricking on the edges. Light cassis and dark cherries on the nose with some tertiary notes like earthiness and damp leaves. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and full bodied. Lots of complexity with light cassis and dark cherries, a little bit of tomato leaves and earthiness. Very well rounded and integrated with a long finish. This will only keep losing fruit and get earthier with time. Drink now. — 9 years ago

2011: all varieties. Meaty, lavender, garden herbs, smoky, but still very vibrant red fruit. Lovely vibrancy of red fruit and all Mouvedre and Grenache aromatics. Sweet fruit, juicy acidity, hot indian spice and liquorice. Plum, cherry, spiced. Quite ready now. — 11 years ago
Decanted for an hour, this was intensely aromatic with a complex melange of flavors--vanilla, figs, cherries, green olives, tobacco leaf, cinnamon, and chalky dust--while staying light on its feet with refreshing acidity, resolved, silky tannins, and medium body. Even at this price, I'd call this a value. — 11 years ago
Boy, do I love these grapes. The floral aromatics are enough to hook the most jaded wine snot. Light body, concentrated, and acid that goes all day. I don't know why I buy this wine only a couple of bottles at a time. Just so delightful. — 12 years ago
medium reddish purple; black cherry, black tea, leather, vanilla, pine needles; cherry, rhubarb, a bit of spice, lightly tannic finish, good length; medium body, medium+ acidity, light fine grained tannin, 13.6% ABV; lovely, nicely balanced, appellation level California Pinot — 6 years ago
Deep currents in the nose with a beautiful round smooth mouth full of flower petals light citrus and berries. — 6 years ago
Rosé really, really does not have to be crap. It can be refined and something special. Delicate light pink in the glass with an atypically complex nose of watermelon, orange blossom, white flowers, and bright citrus. Wonderful acidity and super crisp, this is exceedingly dry and fun. There’s a subtle smokiness that permeates throughout and gives depth to the wine. The mid palate is all bright, ripe fruit which leads way to notes of peaches, guava fruit, tart cranberry, and stone minerality. A bottle of this doesn’t last very long. I don’t know if I’m prepared to say it’s my favorite Rosé but it’s certainly up there. — 7 years ago

It's #NationalDrinkWineDay, what's in your glass?
I can't stop thinking about this DELICIOUS #ArnotRoberts Trousseau I had this week! Soft & rosey w an almost rhubarb/raspbry compote center, the wine carries glints of delightful basil & plush violet petal. Light, lovely & ridiculously gulpable❤️❤️❤️ #certifiablydelish — 10 years ago
