Showing well at 30, despite a spongy loose cork. Part of our thanksgiving game of chance, this was the best wine of the evening. — 10 years ago
Unwooded Chardonnay. Nice & buttery.

Gamey and peppery! The nose smells like fennel and clove lain across a moist bearskin rug. The wine has a speckled, sedimented appearance that sits like raspberry jam in a glass. The flavors are of blackberry, garrigue, licorice, truffle, loads of pepper, game, and clove, with a long-lasting kirsch and mushroomy forest floor finish. Very interesting. Not quite like any wine I've had. Could have more fruit - perhaps a product of the "off" vintage. — 10 years ago
Round, soft fruit notes (little bit of pear) — 11 years ago
Strawberry at first, after an hour of decanting gave way to more of a pepper spice. Very good. — 12 years ago
Fresh, zippy black currants and game. Pretty tannic still. — 7 years ago
Very nice! From SA — 8 years ago
Great Shiraz. Bold and heavy. — 9 years ago
Wild blue and red berry fruit, subtle notes of spice and game, a barely there touch of green comes through as herbal. While the alcohol is high, the wine shows elegantly and very feminine in style. Sauve and silky textured this has very ripe and fine tannin that get lost in the glycerol of this wine's youth. Always a perennial wine of the vintage and a great value (imo). #pegau #grenache #CdP — 9 years ago
Very modern sangiovese !! Ripe fruit, spice a bit floral ... Nice and interesting wine. — 10 years ago
Purple core with small rim variation. Fresh black and blue fruit with olive tapenade, sage, and game. Clean winemaking. Bright acidity to keep it all in check. Could use a couple more years, although just fine now if you like tension in your wine. — 10 years ago
Went well with the lamb we had — 11 years ago
Really good Sauvignon for about $12. — 12 years ago
Really good I was shocked — 7 years ago
In game, with curry. Such a fortunate one to drink a bottle of this every year. Even if it is only one bottle, considering myself lucky. — 8 years ago
Possibly my favorite wine of 2016. Incredible intensity in a delicate, nuanced package. Black pepper, game, and black raspberry. If you can find any of this, buy it! Thank you @Ron Siegel — 9 years ago
Beautiful vibrant bouquet of asian spices, tea leaves, black olives and cured game meats. Exceptional complexity on palette: layered red fruits, exotic spices, warm earth, canned olives, and stewed peppercorn. Smooth resolved tannin but with a towering structure that's very much alive. An incredible wine here. — 10 years ago
Excellent bottle. The 01 is supposedly a better vintage but im not sure when it comes to this producer. Clear, day bright, garnet and orange brick like color, medium - concentration, orange/peach rim variation, slight sediment, low viscosity. Nose: sound, moderate intensity, stewed cherries/strawberries/raspberries, floral, spicy and lots of dill pickle and slight game. A mushroom note as well. Palate: dry, med- body, stewed plums over ripe cherries/strawberries, lilies, dill, vinegar, leather, button mushrooms, game, mulch with some cedar and coconut. Very complex. Med- tannins, medium alcohol, high acid, long finish. Between the 01 and the 98 its a tough choice of which one to put in the wine cooler to store. — 11 years ago

Domaine Du Gros ‘Noré harvests some of the most pedigreed fruit in Bandol, for years selling their grapes to Domaine Ott and Château de Pibarnon. Today, they craft a Bandol Rouge of elegance and length. Its fruit profile in this vintage veers just a notch redder than many of its peers - tasting of red currants, plum and game. 80% Mourvèdre, 15% Grenache, 5% Cinsaut.
