Open for 3 hours so funk could blow off. Fantastic nose and brilliant fruit. — 9 years ago
Very pretty notes of cherries, strawberries, & slight barnyard funk on the nose. Slightly sappy & stemmy, but very young & tight. Light bodied, red fruits, some sap & minerality with medium acid. A lovely soft and fruity finish. Silky. Needs cellar time. — 10 years ago
A little hot on the nose and palate but still freaking delicious. Nose carries through with red fruit compote, licorice whips, leather, balsam, lavender, roasted herbs, moss, funk, and meat. Palate plays more on compote, licorice, and balsam with kicks of spice and leather. There's that savoriness coming through on the palate as well. Despite some alc. poking out this is really beginning to show well. Expecting more organic earth, black tea, and umami notes in the future but still a brilliant perfume right now. Tannin still has a little edge that keeps the wine balanced. Humbled to try wines like this when I can. 375 ml — 10 years ago
Delightfully barnyardy. But then, I love a bit of funk in my reds. — 11 years ago
I love a light red that packs a punch and this wine is exactly that! Bright acidic cherries, smoke, and funk with a little plum and currant on the nose. Get it in your mouth! — 11 years ago
Love these dirty wines. Comes from a blue zone. Beautiful wine. — 13 years ago
Had the tempranillo a few months ago, this time it’s the grenache. It’s still wickedly young but putting out loads of cherry and watermelon juiciness and then immediately takes a turn into that rocks district funk. Always impressive how that shines through even when these wines are fresh. — 7 years ago

Dark cherry and earthy funk (manure). Balanced with a long, flinty finish. Lovely juice!! — 9 years ago
Stewed blueberries and funk. It's a dog drink dog world out there. — 10 years ago
The funk is strong — 10 years ago
Loved the funk, the fruit, the popcorn. — 11 years ago
Stellar..... 2011. Powerful but balanced with the right amount of pepper and funk. — 11 years ago
'01 at end of harvest lunch was showing great with all elements in balance. Dark fruit / cocoa / hint o funk. Cork shows disgorgement date Jan. 2014. — 12 years ago
Lovely little funk bomb — 8 years ago
My last 2011 bottle. The estate of Sette Ponti lies in the heart of the Chianti zone, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past the village of San Giustino Valdarno. Crognolo, aged in French Allier barriques, deep red with red fruit aromas and sweet perfumed spice. On the palate raspberry and cherry flavors, gentle spice and soft tannins with great mouthfeel. Good balance, lingering finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Aged well. — 8 years ago
My current jam. Green pepper, funk, savory, juicy. Transforms to slightly sweet and fruity only when paired with jalapeño hot sauce. — 10 years ago
Absolutely amazing. Lots of good brett. Balanced and delicious. Great dark fruit aromas and flavors. So smooth. Medium high tannins and acidity. Perfect silky texture. A little funk on the nose and palate (positive). Aroma and flavors are out of this world. Leather bag full of cherries and raspberries. Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carmenere. Complex. Delicious 13.5% abv — 10 years ago
Who am I to criticize a bottle of Mouton Rothschild? Amazing, no doubt. But didn't feel balanced. Great funk on the nose. High acidity and overall mild. — 10 years ago
The spicy funk that I dig so much. Hugh Masekela's Unhlanhia pairs perfect. — 11 years ago
Cherry, earth, funk and oak on the nose. Cherries with nicely balanced oak. Some earthiness with mushrooms. Super balanced with a long finish. — 11 years ago
Awesome Syrah funk. — 11 years ago
Pretty amazing! Classic Cayuse funk on the opening nose with opens with the signature Rocks minerality and savory flavors and evolves over time to great fruit, herbal Cab Franc notes and plush Merlot texture on the palate. Yum. Let's see what happens tomorrow! — 12 years ago

Haha... just wrong. One of the most well integrated wines I have ever had. Thrown off not getting the typical smoked meat/ olive tapenade characteristics of northern Rhône. Dark red fruits, slate, gamy, fresh pepper and the right amount of funk. Simply sublime — 7 years ago
