1993 mag - big bold and beautiful - one hour decant was needed and frighten when cork was cracked when pulling but man this big boy was singing
Now all that said - this wine was absolutely ready to be enjoyed - if sitting on this one better drink it
Color was darkest red and smell had it all with the taste of black fruits and the finish was not the longest but definitely satisfying

Out of sheer jealousy at my friends in Vegas I'm having a decent CDP tonight.....the Princeton Jaegar girl in the background is really working the room. For a 2009 this telegraphe is showing really well (although that might be a horse racing term), which is cool as the 2007s still seem a bit in the intermediate phase. Nice plum, liquorice, leather......great structure and a really subtle menthol finish......love these wines. — 9 years ago

So... My dear friend Joe O stops by with the family... Can't believe how good this "Stoney Earth" is... Rothschild must have known something giving The Marcheses his vines... Maybe I should have waited a decade more to drink, but for what? Family, dear friends, great wine... I know Haupt is staring down and smiling... Only Limmer with us, would have made it better... — 12 years ago

Just beautiful. Long smooth finish. Bouquet was complex yet distinct. Paired with a tomahawk with the bestest of friends. La dolce vita! — 8 years ago

Great bottle with great friends on New Years Eve!!! — 9 years ago
This is a very nice one. Great to have with poultry and pork and maybe some red meat. It's smooth very nice but at the same time it's not too sweet not too dry period the kind of wine that you want to sit around just chatting with friends and enjoying life. — 10 years ago
This old and empty bottle I drank with friends and family members on my Birthday it's a Magnum and wasn't as well cared for as another Magnum of Chateau Talbot also a 1949 Magnum also drank on my birthday with friends who as well as me, are old farts or dead. I'm still kicking but not a clue as to why? Possibly the fine wine I/we consumed? The Talbot was considerably better and I paid less for it back in the 70's. Drank it in 1979 it & me were 30 back then. I loved it then and my guess is I'd love it today!

I completely forgot to post this. My brother from another mother Kirk Alexander uncorked these 2 Absolutely Phenomenal 100 point beauties for us to enjoy just because I came over!!!!!! ! Damn., I’ve got to go to his house more often!!!!!! All kidding aside., we were celebrating Veronica’s (his beautiful wife) birthday and what a truly special Evening.it was. There’s nothing better than uncorking a special bottle with friends that have become like family.
We love you Veronica!!! And put up with Kirk just because of you🤣😜🤣

Drinking with some friends without much exposure to fine wine, their first Italian, and they both said wow. Leather notes and resolved silky tannins. — 10 years ago
This wine was a gift from friends staying at our condo. You are welcome back anytime. Rich, robust red wine, great with pasta! Perfect! — 10 years ago
Popped 1 of my 3 bottles to celebrate two friends turning 50 at Factory Kitchen. 50 year old California Cab with finesse, balance, and though I wouldn't expect it to improve over time, it was fantastic and quintessential old school cab from without a doubt one of my favorite California producers. Just lovely! — 11 years ago
Almost 60 years, both the wine and me when I drank it in Paris, with very good friends. I felt great and the wine tasted really super. Served blind, I called it a very well aged Pauillac. I thought it was a younger wine.😏 #bordeaux #paris #pauillac #pichonbaron — 12 years ago
Sharing this with friends on New Year's Eve. Thanks Meg and Jason for this fab Pinot Noir! — 13 years ago
