2001... almost a sherry finish — 8 years ago
This is not your Frenchman's cab franc. Super ripe dark berries, tons of booze, intensely concentrated flavor, dusty tannins, a dash of sweet spice. Long finish of ripe, concentrated fruit, but boy that booze hits the nostrils and stays there. Needs decanting. Quite a payoff once it airs out though. — 9 years ago
Paired well with the crab legs... — 10 years ago
While the winery is still there, this amphitheater vineyard site is long gone. It made some of the lightest, leanest Cabernet that this sunny state has ever produced. Although at times this wine smelled like a fall leaf pile, it had length and focus in the league of great Champagne. The last glass had revitalized currant fruit and top class texture without any hint of heaviness. A great experience and important piece of California history. Bear Gulch greatness! — 11 years ago
Vineyard is south of trout gulch-1600 feet-planted in 79 and dry farmed-picked at 22-23-100% whole cluster-little stemminess and green note on nose-not on palate-great acid and good ripeness but towards tart fruit side — 12 years ago

Kutch's 2015 Chardonnay (Sonoma Coast) is a very pretty wine that straddles the line between the more reductive style of the 2014 and lusher expression found in the 2016. Lemon peel, white flowers, chalk, mint and white pepper give the 2015 brightness, aromatic lift and tension. Insistent saline notes punctuate the driving finish. Most of the fruit is from Bohan, although about 10% of the grapes came from Trout Gulch, in the Santa Cruz Mountains. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, April 2018) — 7 years ago
Veeerry friendly Shiraz at this price. Cherry up front, red apple tobacco, good structure and a frenchman's even hand taming those tannins. — 8 years ago

VVVVVVVAAAAAALLLLLLLUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEE it's hard to drink this stuff because it's actually too good. It's like it's so cheap it's a goddamn shame because I will not hold on to any of these. I WILL BE DRINKING THEM AND BARELY BELIEVING I PAID LESS THAN $20 a bottle 😮 — 8 years ago
Vanilla, oak, licorice, and light tobacco and leather. Also, some light cedar and wood.

Fruit-forward, 13.7%. Lots of structure. Drank at Botella Republic in Berkeley - Awesome wine bar! — 11 years ago
Exciting white from San Lucas. Plenty of fruit courtesy of the Grenache blanc, yet light enough with crisp acidity. No oak or butter. A bit of a rarity, so had to stock up. — 11 years ago
