The 2015 Barolo Gramolere is powerful and dense in the glass, with a good bit of richness but also less of the tension that is such a signature for wines from this site in Monforte. Cedar, sweet tobacco, pine, mint, dried cherry, licorice and dried flowers develop with air, adding attractive layers of complexity. Overall, the 2015 looks like it will drink well relatively early. A nice slightly acidic Italian red. Not dry and has a touch of acidity. Great wine to serve over dinner, but more so to guests who may not be red lovers. Crowd pleaser. — 10 years ago
Delicious after it opens up. I rec opening the bottle about 3 hours before then decanting. Really becomes expressive. Good acid! — 11 years ago

Till lax och sik. Mycket god. — 8 years ago
What a beautiful wine. Surprisingly approachable and soft for a young Nebbiolo, while still showing the structure and harmony these wines are famous for. For the money, a 10! — 9 years ago
Very strong finish - got Better and better as it opened up. More fruit than typical Barolo — 10 years ago

For the price it was a really good Barbara — 6 years ago
Best Greco I’ve had, and I’ve had many. This is an amazingly underrated grape, but’s great along, with cheese, or light fare. All I know is that I want to try some of the other obscure Mastrobernardino whites I can’t usually get and in fact have barely heard of. — 6 years ago
Spicy on the nose, smooth on the finish. Great tannins. — 8 years ago
Serralunga grapes (as does the 2012 vintage), deeper fruit on nose, more spice/smoke/dried meats, really nice. Well balanced. — 9 years ago
Interesting combination of animal aromas, figs, and sweet spices. Want to try again with a nice dinner. — 10 years ago

Soft, lovely ripasso. Lots of cherry. — 10 years ago
Some of the happiness may indeed be because I've been a little to Californian lately. Occupational hazard. This has got pretty violet aromas mixed with herbal notes of pine and faint rosemary. Palate reflects aromas, adding dried cranberries, leather and tobacco notes. Good tannic grip. — 12 years ago

Interesting old Barolo (1964). Still highly acidic, a little bit pruny, but good leather, tar, and earth. Served first with a lamb ragu and tagliatelle. — 5 years ago
