Spicy on the nose, smooth on the finish. Great tannins. — 8 years ago
What a beautiful wine. Surprisingly approachable and soft for a young Nebbiolo, while still showing the structure and harmony these wines are famous for. For the money, a 10! — 8 years ago

An inky deep red, the '11 Lucia Syrah 'Garys' Vineyard' caresses the nostrils with complex aromas of blackberry, espresso, lavender and spicy minerals. Flavors of sweet dark berry coat the palate with enough bracing minerality to keep things interesting. Finishes long, smooth and spicy sweet. — 12 years ago
Very engaging, full bodied. Robust but not overpowering in any area. Great flavors. Much less exciting the second day I tasted. — 7 years ago

The 2015 Barolo Gramolere is powerful and dense in the glass, with a good bit of richness but also less of the tension that is such a signature for wines from this site in Monforte. Cedar, sweet tobacco, pine, mint, dried cherry, licorice and dried flowers develop with air, adding attractive layers of complexity. Overall, the 2015 looks like it will drink well relatively early. Serralunga grapes (as does the 2012 vintage), deeper fruit on nose, more spice/smoke/dried meats, really nice. Well balanced. — 9 years ago
