Strawberries, blood orange rind, watermelon, satsuma mandarins, iron, smoke. Snapping acidity, light bodied, juicy texture, tangy-salty-slightly off dry yet crisp finish. Highly aromatic, at times savory, at times smoky, fruit persists through. Unique, interesting and uncommonly delicious. — 7 years ago
Carmelly and floral with a spicy finish. Ripe and fuller-bodied...killin — 8 years ago
As long as you don't smell the wine it's great. Took this as a recommendation from someone at a local liquor store. Would buy again. — 8 years ago

Good balance of fruit, tannins, and acid. Nice depth. 2010 — 6 years ago
Unreal fruit and depth. Color and residues sugar indicate to me this was likely a declassified auslese. The fruit and minerality went on and on. I fully expect this wine will go another ten to fifteen years at least. — 8 years ago
Great full moon wine. Orange and blue — 9 years ago
About as good an example of Smaragd as I've seen recently. Cauliflower, honeyed, mealy apple, oily and rich. — 9 years ago

Not your uncle’s Pinot Grigio. Full bodied and luscious with ripe orchard fruit, minerals, and enough structure to keep evolving in the cellar. This was a fun left field bottle to share with wine geeks at thanksgiving. $40
More info: 25 year old vines in heavy clay soil. Pluris vineyard is steep with only one row of vines per terrace for maximum exposure. — 4 years ago
