Ahh real cork! Hated that phase of plastic cork. Dried cherries, light stemminess, rhubarb and tea leaves.
This wine has initial sweetness from hard candy and stewed plums. Finish with framboise hard candy.
Last bottle in the cellar and it served us well. — 9 years ago

2005 vintage at Logis de la Cadene in Saint Emilion. Pale ruby hue - edging to garnet. Full concentration of red berries, raspberries and strawberry, florals - white flowers, violets and roses, white pepper, spices. Vanilla essence with air. Huge complexity. Still remarkably youthful - not the typical savoury character of older Rayas's. On the palate, a joy. Medium acidity, medium plus body, medium plus alcohol and full concentration. Medium tannins - round and ripe. A textural wine - coats the palate. The flavours are changing on a minute by minute basis - framboise and spice, floral and deep. Very long finish. Superb.
