Rich dark color, slight effervescence. Smooth. A little tartness. Enjoying the sunset and a cheese plate. A little bit of heaven. — 6 years ago
Cherries, tar, scorched earth...wow. Gains power in the glass. I fawn over Produttori. — 6 years ago

JCB no 81 is a praiseworthy fawn of a Chardonnay-nay. Smooth as silk with light hints of citrus, decent acidity bite and suave finish worthy of a summer day. This demitasse isn't merited for the village idiot's palate so partition accordingly. — 8 years ago

Fine tannins and smooth berries. Outstanding varietal. — 7 years ago
An inner pessimist whispers from my shoulder everytime I open a bottle of WS pinot. You won't like this as much as you liked the last one. I make a fool of myself every time and of course, fawn all over this decadent wine. Though I tend to favor the Sonoma Coast sites, the Allen offers plenty to like folded into a pillowy bosom of warm pie fruits, sassafras, and spice. As always, a complete pleasure to drink. — 8 years ago
Fresh, juicy, little cherry bomb. — 9 years ago
The Laherte Frères Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature is intense and precise, with bracing acidity and striking mineral overtones. Straw-colored, with a fine mousse, this zero dosage sparkler opens with notes of lemon zest, dried honey, pastry and white flowers. The palate is terroir-driven, chalky, calcareous, fossil-laden soils from the Mesozoic era come to the fore with energy and focus, punctuated by overtones of white grapefruit, lemon zest and spice. In fossil limestone. And very distinguishable. — 10 years ago
Smoky matchsticks and green peppercorn with a pickled apricot and gooseberry tinged with banana leaf and grilled corn. Chunky and amber like a sour fossil. Crystalline unsweetened pineapple, burnt lemon, torched matchstick, briny lime, a spray of apple cider vinegar and sauerkraut made with riesling. Really good, like chow chow and the pickled kitchen sink stirred together with a brimstone broomstick! — 5 years ago
Beautiful. Soft and peppery. Had it with a piece of pepper crusted beef on the Webber — 6 years ago
Crisp, dry and well crafted. Nice Riesling with hints of peaches and flowers. Some tropical fruits on the pallet. Loads of acidity. Solid effort. — 6 years ago
Beautifully aromatic with grassy and fresh citrus notes, a lovely balance of dried apricot and grapefruit pith in the mouth. Some sour apple too! Yum yum. Great clarity, only a little bit of claylike terroir. Interesting given the limestone and marine fossil soil. — 7 years ago
Yes. Poured from a magnum, this wine is intensely earthy on the palate and reflects its fossil-rich, mineralic soil at the base of a volcano. Slightly gritty, having the characteristic muskiness one might expect from a Mourvèdre heavy wine with tons of beautiful Grenache fruit. Ahhh-ha, hush that fuss. — 8 years ago
Each time I sip one of the phenomenal Löwenstein holy wines, first words to pop up in mind - straight from the heart pumping through the veins and slipped out of mouth - are: complexity, primordial, hope, illumination, flinty, silex, slate, fossil, rocks, sublimeness... http://hlweb.de/ — 9 years ago
Smooth Pino noir--from@a vinyard where a full dinsosaur fossil was found! Tasted at Cavas Wine lodge with the Earls — 9 years ago
Fantastic! A bit more dry than some other Zins I've had, excellent! — 9 years ago

Feet up and game on In the lounge. Time to kick it off with some BSR. Ahhhh!
Showing some leaner & more restrained fruits of; strawberries, watermelon near the rind, cherries, orange citrus-blood orange, tangerine, pink grapefruit with a splash of sugar and black cherries. Still showing their signature, soft, powdery, chalkiness with an edge of a razor. Seashell fossil, sea spray-saline, baguette crust, pink roses and florals. The acidy is always crisp and dead on for my palate. The long, rich, well balanced, polished finish persists nicely.
