Almond, cherry, pencil lead, a bit of a greasy barbecue scent too. The palate is great with a massive acid backbone, a great width, some gentle mouthfeel that caresses, with a bit of a drying effect, and a long long finish with that cherry note and a salty touch that blossoms in the end. Probably the best expression of barbera I ever had — 4 years ago

Almond, cherry, ink, orange peel, a bit of leather too. The palate is very interesting and balanced. There is a very strong acid backbone, some nice matter on the sides, cherry, orange peel notes popping up all around, some pointy tannins kick in in the rear that leave a drying layer all through the finish, that shows still those orange peel notes and cherry touches, with a bit of that bitterness making it a bit more complex and layered. This is not as austere and aristocratic as barolo but a very nice expression of the grape. I like it a lot — 4 years ago
