Chemical/medicinal nose. Smells like Faslodex (don’t google this). Slight pasture note. Winter foliage. Ruby fruit. Tart. Cherry Jolly Rancher. — 6 years ago
Tonight we have opened the 2009 Chateau La Tour du Pin. This is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. This property was owned by Antoine Mouiex from 1947 to 2006 when the owners of Cheval Blanc purchased it from the Mouiex family. The name was officially changed in 2008 from La Tour du Pin Figeac to Chateau La Tour du Pin. The same Technical Team responsible for producing wine of Cheval Blanc is now in charge of wines at La Tour du Pin. I am inclined just from this fact alone to be keeping my eyes on this Chateau. If you are a fan of Cheval Blanc this is where you can get your bang for the buck.
On the nose there is vibrant aromas of wonderful black fruit, black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant and licorice.
On the palate is good black fruit, black cherry, blackberry, black plum, green bell pepper, herbal notes and nice minerality.
The wine is medium to full bodied with medium acidity and smooth medium sandy tannins that is well balanced and has a pleasingly long finish. I am truly enjoying this wine that is brightening up my weekend. Please be safe and have a continued great weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 7 years ago
Smooth and easy drinking , from me 89pts. Balanced fruit with subtle oak, mellow & ripe tannins - polished and smooth, but with a some bitter aftertaste. I liked it. Cheers — 8 years ago
Pleasing but tight red fruit on the nose, cherry and cranberry most notably, told me that this should be a wine that I should be drinking some time in the next 5 years. But my sister's birthday was reason enough to crack this open and pair with coq au vin. — 8 years ago

Searing acidity. Green apples,
Meyer Lemon and hints of white flowers. Palate-cleansing, refreshing Chardonnay with true complexity. Oak is virtually undetectable. Lovely wine. — 6 years ago

Was 90 yuan in China. Two thirds the price of Jacob's Creek and twice as nice. — 8 years ago
Rolle aka vermentino. Very assertive upfront expression - big nose for a white (corn?), slight sweetness. Lychee, white peach. Stole the show in a vermentino night vs Antoine Arena & Yves Leccia. — 8 years ago
Assez serré la première heure, se développe bien par la suite et devient excellent après deux heures. Bouquet de fleur au nez tres enivrant. Leger fruité et épices. Bonne longueur. — 8 years ago
Incredibly drinkable. Great classic saint emilion nose. Lovely vanilla finish. Great value. Extremely enjoyable. — 10 years ago

With evident qualities, but ultimately not quite my cup of tea, even though I have enjoyed previous bottles of St Peray. — 7 years ago
Needed some air, opened up nicely, red fruit, some minerals very smooth, it will age well — 8 years ago
Simply smooth & delicious! — 8 years ago
Subtle curve fruity to dry with medium acidity and alcohol levels, finishing with subtle oak tannins. Can only see it improve with time. — 9 years ago
Excellent Bordeaux. — 10 years ago
Another great rosé for light snacks! A little on the dry side for my taste, but still a nice find that I'll repeat! Really lively and crisp, this one surprised me a little - really turned a fairly bland, black-pepper linguini experience around! — 11 years ago
